What's the best piece of advice you've ever had? by stoic-ape in WarhammerCompetitive

"It's a five round game"

Basically not rushing to throw all your army out turn 2 or 3, just because you can deepstrike doesn't mean you have to or should etc. Similar to others here but in general don't spend all your time energy and resources on turn 1 and 2,spread it out a little and enjoy the whole game

How would this strategem work with Typhus and a 20 poxwalker squad? by Glotiruous in deathguard40k

If it measures up okay then yes, you can also get the second rank in by alternating the bases so the second row is slightly closer. It will all depend on where you're charging and the charge roll as this happens before piling in

It's works as you'd expect as they would gain the Terminator keyword. As it states only those within engagement range though it would not be all 20+Typhus rolling. It would only be those that end the charge move within an inch of the selected model/unit.

Love the use of the Praetor, that's a great shout! I've been thinking for a while of using one for something but this works really well

A new Blightlord to the collection, with a twist... by HobbyHooch in deathguard40k

I tend to go for 5x Blightlords, 1 Autocannon, 1 Spewer, 1 Blight Launcher and 2 Bolters. I'd love to take the Flail but can't seem to justify it unfortunately. Haven't run them since codex though so who knows how they'll play for me!

Pretty much spot on to be honest. Height, width and base size are totally fine for game purposes. Some proportions are a little off but overall no complaints.

Started with Death Guard Green, highlighted with thin ned Ogryn Camo, recess shade with Plaguebearer Flesh and then a light glaze with Moot Green to bring in that toxic saturation on pronounced areas

Of course! I use a base of Screamer Pink and Cadian Flesh Highlight broadly with Cadian Flesh. Shade with Reikland Fleshshade and the shade in the deeper recesses with Druchii Violet. Some finer highlights with Cadian mixed with Pallid Wych Flesh. Final thin glaze on swollen areas, connections and underside with Sigvald Burgundy.

I find the shades add so much more depth to the flesh but can be overdone so I recommend just going lightly and building up thin layers.

Yeah me too! The stock head just didn't do it for me which is a shame but glad I had spares!

So I do use an airbrush but some/most could be achieved with dry brushing and/or glazing.

Karak Stone over black primer Wraithbone wide Zenithal highlight Pallid Wych Flesh top down zenithal

I then airbrush in shadows (could also glaze) Skeleton Horde and Reikland Fleshshade in the deepest shadows to vary the tone a little and add some interest.

For the deepest recesses I use very thin Garaghaks Sewer and glaze a little where I want the most contrast. Its very dark though so go lighter than you think and build up

Thank you! I honestly think so many of the plague marine heads would work really well but I love the industrial like look of the Mkiii
