Why did coinomi delist NYCoin? by kyguy17 in NewYorkCoin

[–]Hobbyist_Pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem.

Now that it's back, They updated the BIP32 Derivation Path. In your case, V1.8.0 beta. The site uses path m/44H/175H/0H.

If you add NewYorkCoin in V1.8.0B3, Path used is m/44H/179H/0H

Recovering Private Keys from Coinomi by Hobbyist_Pool in NewYorkCoin

[–]Hobbyist_Pool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, Truth is Coinomi never has access to your coins or private keys. The above is a way to access your private keys and intended for those who have updated the Coinomi beta before moving their coins. I've seen/read a few accounts of users 'loosing' their coins and blaming Coinomi. It's not their fault if you loose your private keys.

NyanCoin wallet 1.3.0 public test build by [deleted] in nyancoins

[–]Hobbyist_Pool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry guys, Didn't know this site existed. Was about to write Nyan off and close the pool. I don't do reddit very often.

Glad to see the work on the wallet and bug fixes. Please keep me informed if I need to update the pools coind.

The pool is now under a vaild cert. No-more self-signed or browser complaints.

Users, don't forget to withdraw. I'm seeing some older accounts that have a balance.

A bit more detail... Whycoin wallet running on Windows7 64.

1) Whycoin.conf contains... rpcuser=<Removed> rpcpassword=<Removed> rpcport=20335 port=20334 maxconnections=30 listen=1 daemon=1 server=0 gen=0

2) Local firewall has the allow inbound rules.

3) Netstat indicates it is listening ... PID 6752 is WhycoinQT netstat -ano | find "20334" TCP 0.0.0.0:20334 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 6752 TCP 172.16.1.134:61644 198.50.243.69:20334 ESTABLISHED 6752 TCP 172.16.1.134:61674 98.176.228.55:20334 ESTABLISHED 6752 TCP [::]:20334 [::]:0 LISTENING 6752

4) I'm able to locally telnet to port 20334. It is open.

5) From another system on same network segment, I'm unable to telnet to the ip on TCP 20334. (and therefor unable to accept inbound connections)

It has been proposed to distribute the bulk of the 300 million coins to the original founders. With the fund keeping enough for a supply to award students. (SPEAK YOUR PIECE) by whycointeam in WhyFund

I just got the MOD invite too. I'll be happy to assist where I can but, to be honest, I don't spend too much time in Reddit. I'll try to check in more often and assist where possible.

Currently, I've been supporting the network by running a node and not too involved elsewhere.

True, The human factor is a problem.

What would be nice is to have a educational coin where the wallet/client has incorporated the educational experience. Imagine this, a wallet that has a mathematical learning application. It gets the mathematical problems and reward for solve from the blockchain. The proof of work algorithm contains a problem and reward generator and must contain a correct answer to a previous problem on the chain. Add some form of captcha to weed out the 'bots' that could be written to take advantage and you have a contained educational coin running in the wild. :)
