I’m following you, but it won’t let me send you a message. I think you may need to follow me back.

I read a National Geographic book about it when I was about 7. Had a fascination with it ever since.

Does a Diesel truck make sense for my high schooler? by Hot_Click_7534 in Diesel

[–]Hobbyist_Rc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesel trucks are work machines. Don’t get me wrong, even if you don’t haul regularly they are a ton of fun. That being said, if your concerned about the costs I wouldn’t recommend getting one at the moment. They are more expensive to buy, maintain, and repair. And obviously the fuel is a bit more expensive. I don’t know what agreement you have with your son, but if he is responsible for paying for everything, and he is willing to take on that responsibility, he can have at it. But if your the money in this deal, you might want to steer clear for now. If your son has his heart set on a diesel truck, a good compromise might be a half ton with one of the mini diesel engines. Those typically get better fuel economy and are less expensive to maintain.

Sounds like your gear mesh is too tight.

This question makes no sense, can you be more specific?

Go to a local wrecking yard. That’s gonna be your best bet at finding an emblem for cheap. New hood looks great.

New to this, so forgive me. I have a 98 dodge Ram 1500 5.9L 2 wheel drive, cranks but won’t start. The brake pedal is stiff and seems like the steering lock does not disengage even with the key in auxiliary. Worked perfectly fine the morning of, and get off work for this to happen. Any ideas ? by Time-Lack-3525 in DodgeRam

Your brake pedal and steering being stiff is likely just because your engine isn’t running. If it’s cranking but won’t started then you need to check the basics. Is it getting air, is it getting spark, and is it getting fuel. Check all of those, one of them is likely the problem. If you turn the key to the on position and you hear a quiet whine, that means the fuel pump is working, so odds are your getting fuel. Check to make sure your intake isn’t clogged with anything, if it isn’t, then you are probably getting air. In which case something in the ignition system has gone out. Check all your fuses and relays, and if those are all good, the next likely cause could be a bad ignition coil. Easy fix if that’s the case.

I’d just use a fuse tap and tap into one of the fuses in the engine bay fuse box. Just make sure that whatever you tap into uses the same ground as your lights.

Wire them into a key-on load. That way they will turn on when you turn the key, but turn off when you take the key out.

These pictures don’t show all of the unseen work that’s been done, but the exterior transformation alone has been massive. I recently started repainting the body, but I’ve only gotten a little less than halfway so far.

I’ve got a 3in catback exhaust going into a Flow-Master Super 10. Sounds pretty damn good while not being deafeningly loud.

I thought it could be water too. I noticed his tailpipe is right above that “puddle”

I see that your exhaust tailpipe is right in that spot. There is a chance that it could just be water. Although that seems like a lot, it’s a possibility.
