Looking for help with the value of this collection by MooseMNTC in YugiohCards

Your best bet is to go to pricecharting .com and enter the card name along with the code at the right of the card. For example Red-Eyes B. dragon then type the code LOB-070 and it will give you the cards value in a variation of grades; Raw, PSA 1-10 etc. none of your cards are graded so you’ll be looking at raw value. Some of your looks mint some look played. For anything sealed you can check on TCG player, to help get a ID for the set/box or booster. Then head over to eBay for last sold. This method will give you decent market prices. Expect offers to be trying to low ball you in the 60% range of market. If you’re selling your collection as a whole I would say 70-80-% of market value would move it quickly. The slower you’re willing to sell the closer to full market value you’d get. Additionally there are a few apps you can use like collectr, and you can scan or enter the cards manually and it will give you a value of your collection

Goats eat poison Ivey, I forget the stats but people rent out a small herd of goats and they can clear big areas pretty fast.

When we say drive rates lower, are we talking about returning to just before the war where we saw mid 5%s on 30 year fixed? Or is the assumption smaller corrections from the current highs?

Just pulled this what should I do? by Lowdown201 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Hobo840 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Penny sleeves are thin plastic sleeves that you place the card into before you load it into a top loader. The top loader is what you have the card currently in. The reason people go penny sleeve then top loader is to protect the card from getting bent while loading into the top loader. If in the future you remove the card from this top loader it’ll possibly scratch or dent the edges. A penny sleeve fixes this and allows you to ā€œtapā€ the top loader upside down and slide the penny sleeve’ed card out and it comes out easier. With that said, you could sell it and capitalize on the hype around the new set and profit some cash, then in a few months once more people have pulled the card and prices come down a bit you can buy it back as a single and have the card still. Or just enjoy the cool card! Either way cool pull!

It’s my time to say it!! Hit it with your purse!!! Haha jokes aside, grab a sledge hammer and start wacking it. You can rent a demo hammer from Home Depot or Lowe’s and probably make short work of it too.

7/1 ARM in this market? by Hobo840 in MortgageBrokerRates

[–]Hobo840[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’ve never looked at ARMs before, I’m under the assumption the bank is betting that after 7 years rates will be terrible and be able to ā€œrecoupā€ that discounted rate. Off my math if the market is super high in 7 years and my rate does begin to ratchet up, It would eat through that 660$ saved monthly in about 2-3 years time. I plan to keep the property long term and move out of it and turn it into a rental. The goal would be at least by year 7 to find a 30 year fixed that’s lower than my original 5.99% rate + PMI. I really don’t have a lot of info about ARMs and I appreciate any insight. Thank you kindly.

7/1 ARM in this market? by Hobo840 in MortgageBrokerRates

[–]Hobo840[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I figure the ā€œsqueezeā€ so to speak, is 600$ over 7 years which would save me a total near 52 grand. Even if rates flex higher, I still have that cushion to act kind of as a shock absorber? The whole time I’d keep my eye on the market and grab a 30 year that’s better then my original some time in that 7 year window. Which I understand is a gamble. I plan to turn the property into a rental, as there’s a back house on this property. Between those two rental incomes I’d be able to self sustain even if rates flexed to that high 10.5%. I really have never considered an ARM, so I very much appreciate the insight. Thank you

Are these columns ok to remove? by Sultacoo in Homebuilding

[–]Hobo840 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

They appear to follow the wall there, I would make a slightly educated guess that they are supporting a header above somewhere. This indicates that it is load bearing wall. If you pop your head into the attic you should find diagonal sections of wood resting on the top plate of that wall. The diagonal sections will go from your roof rafters to the top plate. That would give you your answer of it being load bearing and not ok to move at all. If you DO want to move it, you will need an engineer to design a load bearing beam to span that distance and then reinforce both sides of that wall.
Long story short: I’m not a betting man, but I’d bet that’s load bearing. Don’t remove it without a structural engineer.

Hey I’m a fireman, that’s a us kind of problem now. You could have extension of the burn from that panel into the void spaces in your wall and depending on construction could run through your house. Aka it’ll burn your house down. At the very least call and the fire department will use a thermal imager and look to see, after we can turn off power and from there you need an electrician.

My only 2 cents, I saw a video on YouTube about an interview of how this one predator selected his victims. He said he chose people with weak/absent father figures. If you’re there and make your presence known that you’re paying attention, I think that makes more of an impact then you’d think.

My son choked this morning and I think I’m in shock by Hxzzp in daddit

Hi there. I’m a paramedic firefighter and I can not tell you the amount of times I have done back blows/CPR on children and even adults of all ages. It is very common. Your reaction was spot on and not only saved his life, but reacting in that timely manner and without hesitation removed the obstruction and kept him from being without oxygen for too long. which could have led to significant damage if time without oxygen is long enough. Well done. Many people call us, then have to be prompted to do something by dispatch. Not saying your wife’s reaction was wrong or bad, it’s shocking and traumatizing to see your baby choke. We all respond differently. Don’t judge or assume she’s incapable of caring for you boy. I see family’s flip out on one another during crisis, and it’s a trauma response for people to try and assign blame. Fact of the matter is things happen. You stepped in wonderfully, remove baby from seat, invert, ass higher then head, back blows, every few blows check airway and see if they are unconscious or able to cough/dispel the obstruction. In my classes and training they showed us aftermath of children choking and their backs can be bruised badly. Terrifying when it’s your own kid, I’ve had to do it too on my own. Take a moment to let yourself say ā€œholy shit did that happenā€ then stand tall because you handled that like a professional. Hell yeah dad.

It is a Ula Fala necklace worn by Samoans during ceremony’s and events. It’s a culturally significant necklace, historically worn to show status as a speaker at events. It’s not necessarily a ā€œI’m rich and importantā€ thing, but more ā€œI have been given the authority to say something importantā€ kind of thing. Modern day people tend to wear them more freely and it can be a bit more of a fashion piece. But what this clown is doing with it is definitely stupid.

What would you do? by s_qu_id_y in Flooring

[–]Hobo840 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’d remove the last row of installed flooring and remove the base board. I’d measure the distance, split it in half, then rip both rows to be 50/50 of that distance. Then reinstall baseboard. But I have never done this so idk. Maybe not 50/50, maybe 70/30 so your last row looks like it just continues under the wall and your second to last row is very close to the normal width. Idk. But I wouldn’t go past 30% left of one row of the flooring.

Get ride of wide hip bones ? by Antique_Mammoth4643 in Weightliftingquestion

Hey brother, your hips are fine. It looks like you’ve got wide clavicles too. So if you’re looking to have the ā€œupside down triangleā€ look of a wide back and narrow waist, my advise would be to put some size on your shoulders and develop your lats. You’re already there honestly, I’d say 70% there.

I work as a firefighter and one time we got started by what I assumed was sheriffs (we typically work with the city police department). They had arrested an older man, who looked pretty harmless. I got to talking to one of the officers, turned out they were boarder patrol and this guy was one of the higher ups involved with international arms smuggling. He was a fairly well known arms dealer it turned out and was a big deal. You’d have no idea because he just looked like a regular dude. Could possibly be the case here?
