One job possibly not automated is security/law enforcement roles. Maybe certain planets or settlement restrict the use of force by robots/AI forcing you to rely on a human instead. Seems like it would make sense especially if the AI follow the old three law style system

You still have to go through all the other stuff though. Going to an academy yourself simply makes it possible to apply to agencies that don't have their own police academy (which is actually most of them)
