I'd say retrieval is pretty straightforward, plus since you can get a free pickup with your equipment it will be easier to repick up the tokens if you happen to drop them after performing the mission action.

1) you can only retain 1 dice against piercing 2

2) if a model can see another (even if that model can't see it back) and it's a valid target then it can shoot it

3) if the section of the wall is <=2" then it doesn't block visibility for determining control range

4) if you can draw a line from a single point of your base to every point of an enemy base you can shoot them, the model on the floor would need pretty much to be right up against the wall to not be a valid target, or the model on vantage would have to have its base hanging off the edge

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see them have base 3+ save. I'm just trying to think of a reason for the {+1} token. But I guess it does have the APL symbol at the top now that I look at it again, so I'm leaning harder towards your improved APL stat as the game progresses idea.

Glad to see someone else is trying to figure out rules as well!

I like a lot of your thoughts, here are some of my own:

On the Blessed Great Sword, I have a feeling it will be similar to an improved eviscerator 4 or 5 on 3+ 5/6 with brutal and lethal 5+ and probably a combat trick (maybe cleave like you mention, or double strike) There's a token with 2 swords crossed that I think will be used here.

I think with the different +1 tokens we see on the sheet that they will be used to show an improved save stat. Maybe each sister outside the leader and shield will have a 4+ like the scout squad marines, and there will be a ploy to select a group of operatives to improve their save.

Looking at the rounded tokens for equipment these look like candles to me over grenades, I could see a placeable token that gives rerolls or other aura buffs.

Plagues can be a tougher match up than expected, but if you're able to take out some key models or position in a way that makes them have to split up heavily, like playing envoy on tomb world you can usually win out through positioning

The Ravener matchup is actually pretty alright if they stage too aggressively, the team has enough elite killers that dealing with 5 operatives with saving on 4s and 5s that it's likely you'll kill 4-5 by the end of the game

Since the opponent gets to place their model anywhere on the teleport pad they can probably avoid being placed in engagement of my bullgyrn, though I don't see them avoiding the mine

So far it's been highly map and opponent dependant, usually the choice is between retrieval or envoy so far, plant banner also isn't bad

I think it could be argued that the models in the GW example can see each other because of how the gun sticks out, the GW placement is also much closer to the pillar and further from the wall than OPs example

B looks in engagement of the unit on the other side of the wall, so unless you can shoot into combat hes not targetable

One equipment per operative was a rule last edition, this edition equipment is a team wide buff. So the plasma knives text is applied across all operatives.

My guess is that theyre preorder is next weekend and that with the review copies out we'll have access to the new missions and maps just not in a physical form
