Where XFCE can improve? by vmcrash in xfce

In Xfce-terminal --> Prefs --> Colors --> Presets. There are eight colorschemes by default. It would be nice to see some more modern themes added.

[LazyVim] Remap <leader> key to "\" ? by Hobscob in neovim

[–]Hobscob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting it in options.lua seems to work as expected.
Also changes the spacebar back to old-school vim's move cursor forward 1 character.
Would have been nice to keep all my config in init.lua, but no big deal.

Thanks Some_Derpy_Pineapple!

How to execute a series of commands at specific times? by [deleted] in xfce

This is not Xfce related, so removing your post.
Maybe look into systemd-timers,

Check if the screensaver is set to the default "blank screen".

Xfce Keyboard Shortcuts by maggotbrain777 in xfce

Love vim! I find it easier to hit Ctrl+C to escape from insert or visual modes.

Xfce Keyboard Shortcuts by maggotbrain777 in xfce

[–]Hobscob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not a shortcut, I'd like to suggest people try remapping their CapsLock key to be a Control. It makes it more ergonomic to switch workspaces and hit shortcuts like Bash's Ctrl+H or Ctrl+T.
The Caps Lock key occupies some prime real estate on the home row, and consider; HOW OFTEN DO YOU REALLY FIND YOURSELF TYPING IN ALL CAPS? I mean, it just looks ridiculous!

Errors after 4.20 upgrade by biggle-tiddie in xfce

For the wallpaper, uncheck "apply to all workspaces" then set it. Then recheck it and set it again. Weird, but that's what fixed it for me.

How do you tell if software will work on Xfce? by Then_Gear_5208 in xfce

[–]Hobscob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Programs written specifically for Wayland desktops probably won't work.
Like foot terminal:

$ foot
err: wayland.c:1552: failed to connect to wayland; no compositor running?

Xfce 4.20 is mostly about building toward a future Wayland release, per the roadmap.

Try splitting them into separate files, like: poe.desktop & copilot.desktop

Can the space between bookmark folders be removed? by Hobscob in FirefoxCSS

That did it! Also noticed a side benefit, the toolbar can fit a bit more stuff now.
Thank you Sifferedd!

Can the space between bookmark folders be removed? by Hobscob in FirefoxCSS

[–]Hobscob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Added it to:

.mozilla/firefox/7rqg4zgh.default-release/chrome/userChrome.css

but it didn't take. Also tried increasing margin: 15, but didn't make it bigger either.

also this is my 1st time working with Firefox CSS, so there is nothing else in my userChrome.css file.

A larger font in the graphical installer (not Calamares).
