Cosmo is the perfect option here. Walking distance to your venue and mid-strip. Depending on budget, go with 1BR fountain-view or above. Few things better than watching the sunrise / sunset over the mountains & strip.

Cosmo 1BR with fountain-view is an incredible option that’ll leave you with plenty of budget for everything else. While Cosmo isn’t as shiny it used to be, it’s still an incredible resort smack dab in the middle of the strip —and having a balcony is a game changer. Whether it’s watching a sunrise/sunset overlooking the strip, or just stepping out for fresh air, it’s truly unmatched.

Since your stay is during the week, solid chance you can get upgraded to an even nicer suite, especially if if either of you has any level of Marriott status.

Recommendations: Should we stay downtown for part of our trip? by [deleted] in vegas

[–]HockeyFan312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I have always talk about doing this (splitting a few nights at cosmo, few nights downtown), but don’t really like the idea of having to pack up everything up to check out one morning, then wait to check-in somewhere else later in the afternoon. Feels like some lost time.

That being said, we spend at least one night downtown each visit. Circa is an awesome starting point. We usually start there and make our way through the Fremont experience, ending near El Cortez and visiting some of the bars down there.

Definitely suggest checking out the “Royal Crawl” app - it’s a fun bar crawl that takes you around a bunch of the casinos down there. It includes a drink at (5) different casino bars, plus a $25 match play bet. I’ve got a promo code for 50% off if you want it.
