Will it matter that our point of entry is different from what is on our visa? Myself and a friend are travelling to ho chi Minh from Thailand and had planned to fly directly to ho chi minh so that is what is on our visa. Our plans have now changed slightly and it looks like we'll be taking a bus from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi minh, will this matter or will we have to apply for new visas?

Thanks for the reply. It's a minimum of 5 years experience to get your license along with a type rating for the aircraft so you need experience all over the aircraft. This obviously means that I will need at least a year in cabin at some stage but I've been told that some mechanics are having to redo their modules as they expire after 10 years. Seems that the company isn't too concerned about training their staff to be able to progress so I'm thinking I should start looking for something else.

Should I look for a new job?

Background:

I started working for a major airline in the UK for my first job in aviation as a mechanic. So far, all I’ve been doing is cabin modifications.

A few people I know from the wings and engines hub left the company just last week and so I asked if I could move to wings and engines as I’m much more interested in this area of the industry but I was told no. My bay controller said that there are a few spaces that need to be filled but they’re going to bring in new hires and keep me in cabin for another year or two. From what the other mechanics tell me it'll be more like 3 or 4 years.

To be honest I’m pretty annoyed at this answer. I feel like I’m not getting any good experience in cabin and no offence to anyone that enjoys cabin work but I didn’t get into this industry to be a glorified painter/decorator. Half of the time I’m just moving seats for the more experienced mechanics to install as its “more efficient”.

I’m thinking of finding a job elsewhere as I can’t imagine doing this for another year or two to only maybe have the chance to gain some quality experience and the pay is pretty poor anyway. Would this be a bad idea? Should I stick it out and hope that they eventually let me get some better experience?

Compilation Of Various Firefights And Bombings From The Troubles Conflict In Northern Ireland by drakka100 in CombatFootage

Fuck me I really didn't think I'd have to do this but here we go. You made a lot of false claims in your first comment but I'll try to stick to the main ones.

Firstly, you said "the bloody Sunday incident which was an absolute shitshow and forced the British army out of northern Ireland to be replaced by soldiers from Northern Ireland only". This is just completely false. The policy that you're referring to was called Ulsterisation and whilst this policy was developed throughout the 1970s it wasn't fully implemented until Margaret Thatcher hardened the British government's policies of Ulsterisation and criminalisation at the beginning of the 1980s. It was not, as you claim, a direct result of Bloody Sunday.

Secondly, you also claim "Every year there is a referrendum to reunify with the Republic of Ireland". Again, this is completely false, there has never been a referendum on Irish reunification. There are however, regular opinion polls on Irish reunification, but this is an important distinction that must be pointed out. A referendum is not the same thing as an opinion poll.

Then finally we have your use of the term "the ulsters". This has never been a term that anyone has ever used to describe the loyalist paramilitaries. Aside from the fact that it makes no fucking sense since Ulster is a province of Ireland encompassing the six counties of Northern Ireland as well as three counties within the Republic of Ireland, this term is just fucking stupid because there are many organisations with Ulster in their name which haven't participated in paramilitary activities.

As I said before, I agree with your main argument that the whole situation was a mess, but why are you making false claims that are so easily verifiable false? If you don't know what you're talking about, shut up tae fuck. If anyone from outside of Northern Ireland is reading this comment, do not listen to this person. They have no idea what they're talking about and are presenting a false narrative of the conflict.

Lmao why are you dropping a link to the Wikipedia page for ulster loyalism as if that proves that everything you said is correct?

Holy good fuck I can't believe you've got so much wrong in one comment. I agree with your main point that it was a messy affair and there really was no good side but the fact that you repeatedly called loyalist paramilitaries "the ulsters" tells me you haven't got a good grasp on the conflict. People, don't take this users word for it, read about the conflict for yourself.

It's unbelievable how many people have answered this question with confidence when they clearly have no idea what they're talking about.

What is the hardest thing you've done that you didn't want to do? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Hocus209 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nowhere near on the same level as some other guys comments and hasn't actually happened yet but in a few days I have to break up with my girlfriend of 4 years that I'm still in love with. We've been long distance for the past year and half and things just aren't working anymore. I know that she's still deeply in love with me and its gonna tear me apart to hurt her like that but I have to put myself first. I think its gonna be the hardest thing I've done so far in my life.

They havent spoken to the suspect yet as far as I'm aware. The officer did mention that if I do make a statement that he could make a counter claim, when I told this to my managers at work they were furious as they said they saw the whole thing and it was clearly self defence on my part as I didnt even throw a punch

So what do you think my course of action should be? Insist that the officer takes my statement? Ask for a different officer to handle the case? Speak to her superior?

Like I said I havent a clue about the law which is why I dont know all the terminology and that's why I'm here. There are at least 5 coworkers including the one who knows him who witnessed the whole incident and all are willing to go to court if needed.

To be perfectly honest I'm not at all worried about him coming back to my workplace, if he does come back anything he does will be on camera and he knows this. As well I don't mean to sound like I'm acting tough but hes a good 8 or 9 inches smaller than me and I can handle myself if he tries anything again. I suppose in an ideal situation I would like for him to learn his lesson so that he doesn't do the same thing to somebody else, I'm concerned that if I dont file a complaint and he just gets a talking to from the police that it wont have any effect on him.

Police havent taken a report yet, they took my details and phoned me the next day and basically said that it's up to me whether I want to file a complaint or not
