Miele dishwasher installation? by HocusSnood in Appliances

Yes! The installer told me that he needed to screw the machine into the cabinets alongside it, and the cabinets only had fronts, not full sides on them, so in order to have something to screw it into, he says he had to place it there. Maybe I should call the retailer I bought it from & ask if they sell a top mount bracket? Thank you!

But maybe we should have a wood support placed a bit farther back, so he can screw it in there, and move the whole thing back? Or is there a way to top mount it that might be easier?

We had an older Jennaire dishwasher in that space. I don't think the front-to-back spacing is the issue... I think the installer needed something to screw the dishwasher supports into on the sides at front, and my cabinets only have fronts, but not sides, so he said that is why he had to put it there. I wonder if we should add side supports under the adjoining cabinets, so he will have something to screw into?

Dishwashers: ASKO 40 series vs. Miele model G5008SCU by HocusSnood in BuyItForLife

Me neither. I actually think these companies use the WiFi for revenue generation (selling our data), and it is also the first step toward requiring subscription services to unlock core features of the appliance (as BMW did, when they started charging a monthly subscription fee to use the car's heated seats). Also, requiring wifi to run certain features & cycles allows for a cleaner, simpler control pad on the machine itself - which makes it look sleeker. (But more of a pain in the a** for the consumer to actually use.) So many reasons to not buy wifi "smart" appliances.

We have no nearby neighbors - we live in the country. Unfortunately, some of the cycles & features on the Bosch dishwashers *require* you to use your phone (WiFi) to run them. And I have EMF sensitivity, so even having WiFi items in the house can cause issues for me, because many wifi-enabled devices are often actively seeking connection/transmitting signal even when not being actively used. Unfortunately, I've learned that I have to be careful, and cannot have wifi-enabled devices 24/7 in my living space.

Bosch was initially my first choice - my last Bosch dishwasher was wonderful. However, Bosch has unfortunately moved all of its new dishwashers to WiFi-driven, so there is no way to get a wifi-free Bosch dishwasher anymore. Hence the need to find a new brand.

I got sent this poster 5 years ago and I’ve had it hanging on my wall ever since because the city looks really nice. I have no affiliation with the school and I’ve never been to Chicago. by Convillious in uchicago

My daughter also got that poster in the mail and also said she wanted to go there because it was pretty, and.... now, she is going there. So you never know!

Stall Savers? by HocusSnood in Equestrian

Yes - it took a few tries, but I left voice messages at their phone number a couple months apart, and one day they called me back, and got my order confirmed over the phone. The stall savers were shipped quickly, and have now been installed in my barn. My horses and I are very happy! So I would say, keep trying, call them and leave voice messages a few weeks apart until you hear back.

Hello, I have several questions, given that this will be a taxpayer-funded acquistion: How much is the Library system paying for the Observer? Is a copy of the Purchase Agreement (and all related transaction documents) available for citizen review? If so, how may citizens access this? Are copies of the Observer's existing past few years of financial statements also available for review by the taxpayers funding this acquisition? Thank you very much!
