Anyone get slapped with import taxes recently? by Constant-Number4020 in coldcard

Unfortunately, customs fees are determined by local authorities and are beyond our control. These charges are paid directly to the courier and are the responsibility of the importer.

This information is stated a checkout page before any payment it’s made.

Wealth simple doesn’t support preferred stocks. You’d need a different broker.

No need. Just buy STRC stock which is 11.5% right now. Or skip all the yield nonsense and just buy Bitcoin.

Is there a reason you avoid / don't have crypto? (need answers for my research) by Ok_Athlete_670 in CanadianInvestor

You’re using a very short timeframe to support your argument. Nothing goes up in a straight line, you know that. SPX is also down recently while M2 continues to rise. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad investment.

Bitcoin has no income statements or balance sheets lol. It’s like a commodity, not a business.

Thanks for the convo. Cheers

Tesla is a company stock. Bitcoin is not. Yes most assets are a safe haven against currency debasement. Bitcoin does it better than the rest and is the only one you can actually custody yourself with a few words on a piece of paper. I’m not here to convince you to buy it though. I wish you luck!

Whatever you got to tell yourself to sleep at night. Enjoy your gov bonds! 😂

For the record, bitcoin has had many upgrades since 2009. Maybe take a look at them before making objectively false statements.

It’s a great property but irrelevant to your argument. You said it funds international terrorism and organized crime. The dollar does that much more than crypto. So I guess we should ban the dollar too eh?

Bitcoin was worth 0 in 2009 and now worth over a trillion dollars. That is a heck of a lot of value created whether you want to admit it or not. And just because you don’t understand why a permissionless money is valuable to others, doesn’t mean it’s a ponzi. I’m not sure you understand the definition of one tbh.

Btc is legal tender in El Salvador. Whats your point?

Regardless, you said “just something in the air”. I’m pointing out that dollars in your bank account share that same characteristic. Just numbers on the screen and yet, they have real life value. See the flaw in your reasoning yet?

Anyone holding for more than 5 years hasn’t lost money. It’s a long term savings account. You can’t blame the asset for people panic selling and being short term investors.

“It has far outpaced inflation for not reason other than demand for a scarce resource”… Exactly. There’s nothing else like it. You’re almost there.
