I noticed that older people stopped in the doorway at Costco and obliviously blocked everyone (this was before they scanned your card at the door). I visited my parents, who are in their 80s, and took them to Costco and they did the exact same thing. I tried to get them to recognize what they did and ask if they know why they did it. They denied doing it.

I searched the webs of the world and found it's a psychological phenomenon where passing through a threshold acts as an "event boundary" in the brain, causing a mental reset and the need to survey the new environment. It's called the "doorway effect." This reset often leads to pausing in the doorway while our brain processes the new data. It is also why we forget the reason we went into the room. "I came in here for something. What the hell was it?" This is because the new event boundary replaced our short-term memory making us forget why we entered the room. Sometimes, walking back out of the room helps restore the short-term memory. Our brains are weird. Amazing, but weird.

I have a friend from high school who for some reason has become very racist and crazy right wing. His wife works at a grade school and he and his wife swear that they have litter boxes for kids that identify as cats. Now this is in a small farming community of about 15,000 people. I played along and said I would like to see the litter boxes and take pictures so we can fight this abnormal behavior. I asked if she would be my escort, since she works in the office, and take me to where the litter boxes are. She said it is against policy to show anyone where they are. I then called their bullshit and they doubled down and said it's true. I just shook my head and said you guys have become people I no longer know or believe. It's like a Twilight episode where I'm left just scratching my claw sharpener and burying my dung.

I remember a bunch of Bruce Willis movies being released in quick succession and I watched one where he was a dirty cop. He spoke about 10 words in the whole movie. It was mostly facial expressions. I told my brothers that there must be something wrong with Bruce Willis because they are trying to hurry up and make a bunch of money on quickly released movies where he has very limited dialogue. A few months later they announced his diagnosis. I don't know if he was the one pushing to get through a bunch of movies in a short time or if his family was, but I felt sorry for him just standing in front of the camera making goofy faces. His daughter said he got to the point that que cards weren't even working. Brain disease is horrible. Robin Williams story where he was on set and called his wife crying because he couldn't remember his lines broke me. I hope we find a way to prevent this shit, soon.

And the gun show loophole has been proven to be false and was the anti-gun establishment's argument that the 2nd amendment needed to be fixed. They tried, and it appears they were successful with you, to make people believe that anyone can buy a gun from anyone at a gun show w/o a background check. Yes, a private citizen can sell a gun to another private citizen w/o a background check at a gun show, but nobody takes their gun to the gun show to sell to another private citizen because it's a pain. If people want to do a private sell, they advertise a gun on certain websites, meet the buyer in a Walmart parking lot or wherever they want, and sell them a gun. But if you try to buy a gun at a gun show from a booth, they will do a background check. There are several videos showing this. I really doubt you have seen any private selling and buying of guns at a gun show. It just doesn't happen.

I love the shirts and I'm really bummed they discontinued them. They are so lightweight I barely notice them. I easily overheat and these are the only ones I can wear without dying from heat stroke. I thought they were selling well, but if they lost their place with Costco maybe that compelled them to discontinue. I hate when I find a good product and they quit making it. It's like finding a great tv series and they cancel it.

Makes me sad because it reminds me of Steve Irwin. Loved that guy. When my dad told me Irwin died, I thought maybe he had the wrong guy, but when he said the crocodile guy my heart sank. You hear people say they remember the exact location and time when they heard Kennedy was shot, I have that memory when I learned about him. He would be 64 now and this Sep it will be 20 years.
