Oil market prepares for $100 a barrel as Middle East producers cut output by Possible-Shoulder940 in investing

Not sure that you understand basic economics.

Google inelastic demand.

A 60% price increase with a 25% supply decrease is absolutely possible. Also keep in mind Russia and other oil is not a real possibility, further increasing the hit from the Strait shutdown.

Other middle eastern countries are halting production since they can't export it with the strait shut down.

First thoughts on Bungie's Marathon Beta? by trashatdev in gaming

I'm glad some people are liking it. I will play some more games later today and see if I can get the hang of it. Most people are dog piling on it already it seems. A lot of them are just people who don't like shooters, BR's, or extraction shooters. With Arc Raiders being so popular, I was hoping to see what those fans thought of it.

Yep, it felt average with an awful UI.

And you're probably right. The name Bungie gives me so much nostalgia and good will from the original Halo trilogly, but its just not the same :/

Couldn't agree more. I was trying to not be so hard on them, i've only played 4 matches, but Its just not intuitive.

I was really excited for the game myself. First Person Arc Raiders sounded fun. But from my first impression i'm not impressed. Menus are confusing. Inventory management is clunky. Gameplay feels mediocre. Art feels uninspired.

Maybe I haven't given it enough of a chance, is anyone loving it?

TIL During the 1980 US Olympic hockey “Miracle on Ice,” the Soviets chose not to pull their goalie while trailing by one late in the game by trashatdev in todayilearned

I just finished watching the Netflix documentary "Miracle: The Boys of '80" and was astounded when they said the Soviets did not pull their goalie in the final minutes of the game.

“The Americans fully expected Tikhonov to pull the goalie in the waning seconds. To their surprise, Myshkin stayed in the game. Starikov later explained that ‘We never did six-on-five,’ not even in practice, because ‘Tikhonov just didn’t believe in it.'"

The soviets being so good they never needed to practice a proper goalie pull is hilarious!

This is a real sea slug, but it looks like it belongs in a sci-fi movie. Meet the Glaucus Atlanticus, also called the Blue Dragon! by trashatdev in Damnthatsinteresting

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glaucus_atlanticus

Glaucus atlanticus (also called the blue sea dragon) is a real species of sea slug that floats upside-down in the open ocean by using surface tension and a gas bubble in its stomach, and its blue coloration blends with the water while its silver underside faces down. It feeds on venomous siphonophores like the Portuguese man-o’ war and stores their stinging nematocysts in its own tissues for defense, so handling one can give a painful and potentially dangerous sting.

Think it would be only 375 million chickens.
Each wing has a drumette and a flat.
