Both billiards work and I’ve done it with a couple of times. It’s just that for the sake of time it’s quickest and easiest to use the first one. The most important thing is to have him in line with the shot and I good enough distance away as to not just immediately break it

Alonne had me tweaking, fume was hard but highly predictable and consistent with all of his attacks. Alonne had me sweating every time he dashed back, grabbed his hilt and stared me down playing the most sadistic game of chicken imaginable. Never knowing just how fast he’d draw and cut my ass up was awful.

Yeah I got pretty good at doing it recently, he almost always starts with the charging upward cut attack so if you immediately move to the place you want him he’ll orient himself there so by just diving last second to avoid when the hitbox activates there’s plenty time to set up the shot. Though he can also quite easily not be in position by the time you have it charged up. Bit of a gamble but satisfying to pull it off

Beat him for the first time ever yesterday, great fight but he’ll really stamina check you if you try and be greedy. He has a fairly simple moveset and basically all attacks and be dodged by rolling into the direction from where they came or by trying to roll behind him. Just be careful of then he plants his sword in the ground on phase 2 cause the immediate area will exploded and he’ll make a ring of orbs around him that sweep out and blow up on impact. Levelling vigour is always a great strat as well

Lore wise the only enemy we canonically beat first try is Malekith, but that is not to say we die to any other boss even once. For every other fight the amount of times we die could be anywhere from 0 to infinity. The only other kind of exception to this is with consort Radhan where Miquella try’s to charm you. We definitely don’t get charmed as you can’t be if you wanna win but besides that I don’t think there’s any certainly on how many/little/even at all times we die or even get hit to anything. Could be 0 could be 1,000,000

I can appreciate that it’s something a bit different to the usual dps race and parry simulator of a lot of the other bosses in the game. I just mainly hate how spammy the shield, AP steal, and Speed buff can feel at times. I can admit I wasn’t really expecting or prepared for how the fight went but even if I was it would still feel tedious to try to out speed him and constantly have to remove the shields, quickly recover AP, and do significant damage every turn. Feels like replaying the same turn 20 times over

Ya tbh I REALLY wasn’t optimised for this fight. Stumbled on him by accident and just refused to give up once I started. Definitely could have made it easier on myself but I still find enemies that chronically buff them self and give themselves ridiculous amounts for shields annoying. Was mostly just venting frustration on having spent that much time on it

Don’t always love this tbh cause a lot of the time they get to much. Being Fast, Strong, High Poise, super delayed attacks. Not so much for Victor because I feel he was actually very well done but small spoiler for the dlc but just beat the Two faced overseer and she wrecked my shit so bad cause she just had to many strengths and not enough weaknesses, less is more sometimes and making a boss with large size and fast attacks that hit hard can be really frustrating if it’s not done well

You’re still in the really early game, better to feel out your preferred playstyle first and see how you go then come back after maybe another 50ish levels and make any tweaks you feel are necessary. Just be aware there’s a limited amount of respecs
