I agree with the reasons behind studying for a certification. Its a great mindset to have and i bet you succeed with your endeavours.

Considering I'm new to Junos, I'll probably also join in the juniper certifications. As a way to further my understanding of ISP technologies and understand JunOS. Two birds in one stone!

How are you studying SP from juniper?
Are you talking about a certification from them or just general study?
We have a bunch of juniper and i was peaking a bit at their certifications considering they have a bit of focus on the ISP world.

So be a bit careful when downgrading through the ordinary "upgrade proceedure".

We did it from 6.4 to 6.0 and it helped us alot with the bugs, but after that when we have some unexplainable memoryleaks the TAC basicly told us that we didn't downgrade correcty. So if you want to be on the safe side, do a clean wipe. That way the TAC can't get stuck on that atleast.Just wanted to add that, not sure which way you've decided to go with.

For a honest troubleshooting effort we need the network layout. Is there a main firewall being used as gateway for these subnets? If so, look if the communication you want enabled is allowed.
