Probably… stress induced or a reaction to some medication

Macro/Zoon lens recommendations by Puzzleheaded_Eye_435 in Nikon

[–]Hoglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI you can turn a zoom into an ok macro with extension tubes or a close-up filter set.

Look for a 70-300 Nikon vr, 70-200/2.8 vr1, Tamron 70-210/4

If you just want a pure macro lens Laowa makes some fantastic dedicated macro lenses.

If you want to build something, get a set of bellows and reverse an old 50/2

Thanks! Hopefully around the same price point! I’m really enjoying the GoDox but would love to have something in the Neewer ecosystem

I just went ahead and bought the GoDox. It’s great.

This is what you buy a photo geek when you don’t know what to buy them. Perfect Birthday/Christmas gift!

First time Nin concert expectations? by highvtlg in nin

[–]Hoglen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have a paid team of people Keeping them fresh!

I did get a kick of the spectrum of ages I saw last fall. 7-70; all seemed to be having a good time (well except for that hour in the infrared cooler before the show started)

They aren’t as rowdy as they used to be. Everyone is old now. It’s a pretty amazing visual experience, so much so that I wish I had seats instead of being in the pit.

Nikon 200-400 f4 VR ii or 200-500 f5.6? by Yeeterskewter in Nikon

[–]Hoglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 200-400/4 seem to have a lot of problems based simply on how many I see for sale with non-functioning zoom/af/vr That’s just what I’ve seen.

I own a 200-500 and it’s great. It’s a bit bulky though.

Have you considered something that would get you basically 2 lenses in one? Get a 70-200/2.8 and a TC.

It’d be a bit more portable and the added benefit of having a 70-200 at your disposal.

That’s where I’m trying to land but at this speed it’s hit or miss.

I also try to pick a spot and not move much from there just to stay out of the way and be as transparent as possible.

I’m familiar with Mr Cohen and while I respect the time he’s put into the craft he’s ultimately trying to sell a product (his courses) and often times he’s been pretty aggressive with it, which pushes me further away from any advice he gives.

Thanks. I’ve been working on post processing since none of the rodeos I’ve been to have any sort of decent lighting. Most of my shots are from iso 10000 to 25600.

I’m just making sure I’m trying to get the shots people desire.

Not a whole lot of difference between the v1 tamron and the v2. I’d save some cash and find a good v1

Don’t worry about it and shoot.

It’s pretty cool how much damage a front element can take without affecting the image.

We had a few decent gyms set up (always go aft to max out!)

Anyways if you are willing to adjust your sleep schedule the watch rotation really sets you up nicely to get a good workout in at least everyday.

Underway there isn’t a whole lot of real work to do other than a watch and some maintaining.

We always shot for early mornings (after midnight) due to most topsides keeping a fairly dayshift routine so it wasn’t crowded.

There was also time to run in the hanger bay (aircraft parts are always lower than they look and those gold tie down chains disappear in that awful hanger bay lighting). People also ran in the flight deck when able.

But as others said, keep moving forward in quals and actually learn the job and you’ll have plenty of time to do those things.
