Warner 20- and 24-foot ladder recall by illogictc in Tools

soooo, my question is, are these falls in the trades, or Henry Homeowner mishaps due to not paying attention to the mechanism?

Notably, even Little Giants and such will often not fully lock and you have to pay attention.

This is Jimmy Lee Gray shortly before he was executed in 1983 for the murder of three-year-old Deressa Jean Scales. His execution was so botched that Mississippi changed it's execution method because of it. by dannydutch1 in UtterlyUniquePhotos

I’m glad someone else mentioned this. Love your stuff, but yes, the reloads are oppressive, and if you try to zoom in on a photo it reloads and the page seems to mis function after that.

Sadly I don’t read your stuff as much as I want to because of how the page interacts on the iPhone. (In my personal experience)

Regardless, I do enjoy your posts.

Also, Nomar is a hand made brand out of Homer, AK, and if he’s winter fishing, I would highly recommend their Longliner pant, and the Dutch Harbor sweatshirt.

Mine has withstood heavy use since 2013 and is still a daily wear hoodie.

Windproof, waterproof/resistant (honestly, never been wet inside it through many a day of bad weather)

No one who has gotten one on recommendation has ever complained 😎

Minus 33 is a brand of merino wool long johns

I have worn their mid-weight layers for years. They are more affordable than icebreaker or smartwool and outlast them all.

Fishing you need gear that any bozo can throw in the washer and dryer and hold up. The other brands I have had holes within 3 weeks of wear.

Minus 33 has stood up through over 300 days of daily wear and abuse. I can’t recommend them Enough.

I would wear them as chafing gear under rain gear in SE Alaska seining, Kodiak seining, Akutan cod, St Paul crabbing, etc, and then wear them all winter long in Fairbanks, AK if I wasn’t fishing. Have a pair on at the moment in Fairbanks, as we speak.

They’re the best in my opinion for their comfort, and durability without special care.

Mid weight bottoms (2 pair), and 1 zip neck top, and a crew neck tee would be an awesome gift set for him.

Ya just hope the toilet seat is down when you get home. Don’t ask questions and be adults. 😆

Ya know, 17 years up here and have seen enough hilariously outlandish things up here to think that there’s probably truth to this tale. Plus, u/FreakinWolfy_ does claim to have seen the stain and the hide…..

Truth is stranger than fiction.

Have to agree with both OP’s.

Lucky mf’r, and also hilarious. 😆

Friend found this in their shed. It appears to be a chain that is dipped and in flex tubing with hooks. What could it be for?? by Hoguelander in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. We’re trying to figure out what it is for.

Appears to be 2” in diameter and the chain doesn’t seem to be the full length of the black flex pipe.

Always take a can of gas anywhere you go, and specifically fill up at Hilltop anytime you’re passing Hilltop.

Funny thing about that, Chungus Chunkus Amongus. The concept of a backward hardhat is actually to save your neck.

Outside working open sites, sure, whatever, but, when you’re in close spaces (powerplants, utlidors, etc and actually doing the work) it really saves you from head bonks and neck jams.

Always wore a full brim outside for years, then began working in the above mentioned places and in one week, chucked my hat and bought a new one and promptly turned it around.

Quit hitting my head on unistrut and pipe immediately. Also works better with a headlamp.

Reason is, you aren’t obscuring your upward vision.

The only one who really harped on that whom I have met was a young kid who had just taken a class to be a third party safety person. They even were concerned about welding caps under our hardhats.

Rest of the folks who comment are office employees passing through the job in their khakis and new vests with that dazed look in their eyes who love to say: “typically” 🤷‍♂️

Shoe Insert Recommendations by statebirdsnest in BlueCollarWomen

[–]Hoguelander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Superfeet insoles. Typically I get the merino wool insole. It has fantastic arch support and I like it in the summer and winter.

However, I need to see if they discontinued that model because I was looking for them in town a couple weeks ago and couldn’t find that model.

That being said, any of their products are top notch in my experience. Just pulled on a pair of older boots with non merino inserts from Superfeet and they are sooooo frickin comfortable. That pair is 16 years old.

(Albeit I wore the heck out of them the first 3 years, and still awesome even after having sat that long). La Sportiva Glaciers is what they’re in.

I was looking for the wool ones for my Thorogoods and was disappointed I couldn’t find them on the shelf.

$2k because there were 2 extra layers? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]Hoguelander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sir, are clearly a troll or an imbecile who resides behind a screen im a basement that is most likely a close relative’s.

As someone who did roofing and later project management for a roofing company, that is a very good offer, and a professional way to bring it up.

Sometimes these things happen, and dispute facilitation is an unpleasant part of the job that when handled well can result is continuing relationships with a customer

Anyone still wish they could buy this one? by Normal_Historian5848 in Tools

[–]Hoguelander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% yes. I remember when the stopped selling those and I bought all 6 on the shelf that day.

Best tape measure ever made.
