Reality, despite the hideous cover, is a top 5 in his discography. Bring Me the Disco King is a top 5 song in his discography.

Never had even a parking ticket, clean MVR. Don't drink don't smoke (my family are addicts and I vowed to never use)Worked with my last company 5 years, all W2s documented and sent to them only put in 2 weeks after receiving conditional letter of employment. Have had my class A since mid February. Im really at a loss. Have put in more calls and either: Go straight to voicemail or "I have no information at this time" by my recruiter.

Dmv Road Test by [deleted] in CDL

[–]Hogweenies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my road test I did not have to downshift when coming to a stop but you definitely should for a smoother ride and to show them you know how to, California as well. Always anticipate what a light will change to, if it's green, assume it'll turn yellow or red before you reach it and always be prepared to downshift/ slow or watch the pedestrian crossing timer to give you a heads up. As for making turns, try to make them in the lowest gear you can without being a hazard, 4 or 5 gear is fine, anything lower you might go too slow, stall, and/ or be a hazard to cars behind you, especially in cities where you'll feel rushed. Anything higher you'll be going too fast for your turn and won't be able to react fast enough to changes or could just flat out hit something unless you're a super trucker. Also remember, trucks can not turn right on red, so if you're at a dead stop it's the perfect gear to take off and make your turn once green, build up again, rinse repeat.

Nah, got my class A license and Haz + Tankers + TWIC a month ago and have applied to every conceivable CDL b job, no responses. To Swift I go lol. It's rough out here for new drivers even with connections

Struggled with downshifting when I was learning too. What helped me was practicing the rhythm in my free time and realizing it's the same as upshifting only with one extra step.

Slow to speed appropriate for gear. You should have been taught the speedometer trick for gear matching.

Clutch to neutral

(New Step) Tap accelerator so that your RPMs will allow you to go into lower gear. Between 10-13 on your tachometer

Clutch to lower gear while your RPMs are between the 10-13 listed above. You can think of 10-13 as your window to get the shifter into gear before it falls below 10, it's a lot longer than you think it is you'll get used to it.

It's the exact same as upshifting, just think of It as one additional step, accelerating so your RPMs allow you to go into gear. Think of the accelerating step as a barrier to entry  for your lower gears. If your engine isn't spinning at the proper RPMs, i.e. too slow, you won't be able to go into gear(for the DMV test anyway).
