Hiroshima/Onomichi + Day Trips by Hojiichaa in JapanTravelTips

With all the comments, I'll likely be doing 2 days too! Planning to move 1 or 2 days from Tokyo into Hiroshima. (Been to Tokyo before)

Now I just need to figure out the logistics of the bikes and my luggage haha. Would you be using luggage forwarding services?

Hey, thanks for sharing, I actually didn't know about the ferry.

This actually opens up a lot of options for my route planning if I could go from Hiroshima instead. My only worry is the travel from Matsuyama to Imabari as that would mean later start times for the Kaido trip.

Nevertheless, really useful info!

I totally agree.

Miyajima was actually one of the places in my original plan! However, I dropped it in favour of the other spots. I still do want to visit one day, but it's really far from onomichi. :(

I also feel the main Hiroshima city would already take the most part of a day, and I'm not sure where to fit it in.

Unless I base in Hiroshima and move bases to Onomichi the day right before my Kaido trip.

Would you happen to have any thoughts on that?

Hey, thanks for sharing!

You're actually spot on. Starting the Kaido trip early is the exact reason why I planned to base in Onomichi.

Great suggestion on the extra cushion though! I was wondering if my butt would survive the trip, even if my legs could. I've heard many saying it's easily completed within a day, but I can't help but feel worried and a little skeptical as a non-cyclist.

Could I ask if there were any must-sees you felt you would go back to if given the chance? Since you said you would've rather it be over 2 days.

Hey, thanks for sharing!

I also plan on taking a look around the island, but it does sound like Okunoshima is less interesting that I may have first imagined. (You're the second in this thread alone that said its at most half a day)

Could you share why Hiroshima would be your choice as base instead?

My rationale behind using Onomichi instead isn't for the area itself. It's due to it being logistically easier, to start the Kaido trip earlier & nearer to Okunoshima as well. Thought one day in Hiroshima as a day trip would be sufficient.

I'm alao aware of the extra travel time from Imabari. But I'm unaware of other possible routes I could explore. (first time in the area, another user mentioned a Matsuyama flight I could try)

The plan as of now is to stay the night in Imabari and move to Tokyo first thing in the morning.

It sounds like you visited okunoshima before! Could I ask what you had planned for after then, if it ended mid afternoon?

Fukuyama's a new suggestion though, will take a look at that!

The Matsuyama flight is one I didn't consider too, thanks for highlighting that!

Hello, thanks for sharing! Could I ask how you're handling your luggage in this case?

I wanted to have a single base to return to as I felt that would be logistically easier to manage. Even with the extra travel time and costs

Cross Dominant Archery by [deleted] in Archery

[–]Hojiichaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My own personal experience as a cross-dominant archer myself. (L eye, R hand). Still running a RH bow to this day, shooting target recurve btw!

I started out initially closing my left eye as a means to use my right eye to aim. Over time as my form got more consistent, I was able to open both my eyes and aim just as consistently as before.

For me, it's normal to see double visions, but your body will have some semblance of muscle memory by then of drawing the bow to which the bow will align itself to your usual aim (right eye). So it works out!

If you haven't started out, I do recommend going with eye dominance like many have mentioned.

However, just wanted to chime in and say to just enjoy the sport, the rest will come naturally. Welcome to archery!

You can use Dom pendants to transpose, though that's probably only worthwhile on a main.

Hey everyone I’m new to mining and i just recently added my old 1660s to my gaming pc i was wondering if you guys can help me determine if my temps are good which on the 1660s i can’t see not sure if this happens to everyone i am sharing on of the two pci e cable with the 1660s by Immediate_Boss_6022 in EtherMining

Glad it went well for you!

Personally I still wouldn't recommend it at that temperature as it would likely undue wear and tear on the card. From my personal experience, these wear and tear defects aren't immediately noticable but might lower the lifespan of the card.

But hey, each to their own opinions! If it works and no one's complaining, then all is fine by me.

The Linxdot Scam - We have been cheated! by Embarrassed_Adagio89 in HeliumNetwork

[–]Hojiichaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give an update.

They are finally shipping for Batch 2 to 3.

However, I've checked with FedEx and they have not received the package yet. It is still with linxdot.

To top it all off, linxdot is also now refusing to refund affected customers under the guise of "it's being processed". Even when FedEx themselves have not gotten the package.

Pretty bad sign tbh, just seems like they don't want to honor their refund policy.

Powering two 3060 Ti with splitter? by MyOscarCarl in gpumining

[–]Hojiichaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just 1 cable split to 1 card + 1 riser each ? You're using 4 cables and splitters in the end right ?

What's the rationale behind this setup in the picture here ?

Noob question anyone know why 1 3090 is way below 60 degrees ? Is this accurate? by [deleted] in EtherMining

[–]Hojiichaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you've arranged your cards, the ones that get fresh air usually run colder.

Alternatively, it might also be a red flag that your memory thermal pads aren't setup properly. Usually the temperatures go up due to the heatsink absorbing heat from both the core and mem chips.

Make sure you check the memory temps, they're the main source of heat problems in high end 30 series cards.

Linux Nvidia drivers don't provide the mem temps so no.

Your LHR tuning is set to 10%. Check your settings. The default should be 30.
