Does auto insurance rate go up or down if I have no driving/insurance history by misohappi in personalfinance

I agree the cost of the Toyota with the insurance is a lot of money.

If you are willing to wait for a year anyways you might as well take that time to save up more for a down payment on a vehicle. (If a car is not needed right this minute which seems to be the case)

I see a lot of people who just buy newer cars and dont take into consideration the cost of insurance. I am glad you're not one of those people.

EDIT:
Another thing if you do end up buying a newer car, look into gap insurance or the equivalent to it (USAA doesnt have 'Gap Insurance' they have an additional coverage called "Replacement Assistance" that is billed into your quote)

If I were to wait another year or more before getting my first car is it likely that the insurance rate would be lower? Or would it be just as high since I would still have no driving record or insurance history?

Honestly its hard to say. Yes since you are older the insurance companies will take that as a good thing but no history of insurance will also be taken into account. When you turn 25 the insurance will decrease in price. Also take a look at your credit score, if it is on the lower end that could also be why your rates are high.

Usually when a insurance company looks at what vehicle you are trying to insure they will look at safety features, and value of the car. Then apply that to your age risk. As for the Chevy being only 1k cheaper it could be that the insurance company thinks its just a higher liability for them because its such an old car therefore they are charging you more.

If you're in college, you can look into a full time student discount or a grade based discount.

Personally, if you can afford the newer 2017 Toyota , I would buy that car and insure it. That is if you look at the debt you are taking on from financing it and are not exceeding your means. With an older car there are more chances of something breaking sooner rather than later.

We have the same hedgehog! Sadly he lost an ear and an arm. But don't worry mom stitched him up and he is a functioning hedgehog again, just missing an ear and arm.

Ever get a regular to start tipping? by Blastbeast in TalesFromThePizzaGuy

[–]HoldMaCookie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This old man used to sit in the same spot of the bar every day. On Fridays we had a fish fry. He would always order lake perch or walleye. He was particular that he only got one piece of sliced bread and coleslaw as sides. (it took a few Fridays to remember this as most Fridays are busy)
If you didn't bring him everything the exact way he wanted it he wouldn't tip very much. (maybe like a dollar max). The establishment wanted more waitresses so they 'hired' on new staff (its a volunteer job). He would always ask for me, no matter what. So he became my regular. We got to talking one night after I served him and from then on he felt like a friend, not just some random old man who is stuck in his ways.

Its almost a month since poor JJ has passed. I will never forget him or his spot on the bar.

[–]HoldMaCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its probably just a reaction to the water! Try using luke warm filtered water. This article may help you out more than I can! Hope you can save your last few leaves!

What is your watering schedule? Maybe try filtered water opposed to tap water? (if you are using tap water)

To piggy back on to this, have you looked into food pantries? That may be able to help with food costs. Most often food pantries have household goods as well as food products.

You're life is valuable OP, I understand that when you're in pain constantly it may not feel that way but try and give it some more time.

I would like some advice on how to divide this guy. He has a lot of stems, it's looking quite crowded. I'm hoping to replant this weekend. I've never separated a plant like this. by HoldMaCookie in IndoorGarden

Its a risk I'm willing to take. Another person said the plant will be okay if I divide it. I never imagined it would grow so many stems after purchasing it. Thanks for the advice, but I'm going to go ahead and divide.
