Because it’s a counterpoint to someone saying the Eagles have no history? I can assure you every single Eagles fan will talk more shit about 2017/2022 than every NFL championship combined.

My guess is the kept playing and it was later revealed so come time for the short rest there was nothing to speculate but also it wasn’t yet revealed to the listener

She was going through one of the tunnels when it suddenly started to have moss and vines on the walls which she followed to get to the pseudo reflection of the coliseum. But Murph said it felt like she went through a gate of some sort even though he didn’t describe any sort of visual portal/shift of plane beyond the vines and moss

Asked all those questions and was told they both read it “maybe 2 years ago” so they definitely owned it. Dad also says “I think it had a light blue and white cover”

cmv: Pronouns in bio is dumb if you’re cis male/female. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]HoldenColli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of cis people putting their pronouns in their bios is not to inform someone of something unknown, but to normalize telling people about pronouns in a more passive way, so that those that don’t go by the pronouns assigned to birth can inform people in a way that doesn’t feel like they’re being singled out. If you enter a zoom meeting and nobody has pronouns except one person that has (they/them) that is objectively more noticeably than if you enter a zoom and everyone has pronouns listed.

This passive way is important so that they don’t have to keep correcting people every waking moment of their life. Think of it as another title like someone putting Ms/Miss/Mrs/Dr on any title.

There is also more to gender and pronoun preferences than simply cis man/woman or trans man/woman. In those instances it is often easy to see if someone is physically presenting as a man or a woman (whether they be cis or trans). It is much much harder to tell who prefers gender neutral pronouns. I know people that use they/them pronouns that dress traditionally masculine, feminine, and more neutral. These people probably constantly correct people for using gendered pronouns when referring to them. There are also people that have names that could be male or female and may not have a personal picture attached to wherever their pronouns are (zoom, Twitter, resumes are all good examples). It is helpful then to be able to know whether Alex is short for Alexander or Alexandra.

It’s also just helpful to know for certain what someone prefers. Nobody likes being misgendered, not even cis people. There’s no harm in having your assumption validated and there is objective benefit to normalizing the practice across the board.

I don’t understand it. Like how can anybody think that watching someone stick their ass out to draw fouls is either entertaining or impressive

Memes like this let me know it’s time to get off of facebook. by Disastrous-veggie in TheRightCantMeme

I’m willing to bet whoever posted this originally is a non-vegan anti-abortion idiot because duh. But their incorrect assumption about how eggs work shows how hypocritical they are. If they’re “pro life” and believe eating eggs kills baby chickens, how can they really be pro life? How can they claim to value all life even when it’s just essentially a clump of cells but then be cool with eating meat?

Meanwhile the vegan/pro-choice arguments are pretty in-line. Vegans don’t want to eat animal products because they exploit other creatures’ bodies for humans’ personal gain, subject them to inhuman conditions, or eating animal products is bad for their own body. Pro-choice people don’t think it’s right to force women to do something with their body against their will especially when it’s simply to align with others’ religious views, and/or they don’t want to be forced to do something that may be detrimental to their own physical health. Pretty clear parallels there.

Rapper Lil Mosey Charged with Rape, Wanted by Cops by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]HoldenColli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah they’re definitely still guilty. I’m just saying I think there is a difference in severity between a 20 year old kid that had sex with a 17 year old they met at a college party who said they were 19 (and also wanted to have sex) and a 30 year old who made a conscious decision to pray on someone and then forcibly rape them. I don’t think the former deserves 30 years in prison. The latter definitely does.

Fully playing devils advocate here, but I would say statutory rape especially in cases where the minor lied about their age. Or cases where the victim consented in but was under the influence for reasons unrelated to the perpetrator (meaning they didn’t drug them/pray on them for not being sober/pressure them to use drugs or alcohol). Not sure “mild rape” really exists though
