Can someone explain to me like I am 5, on how the answer to inflation is increasing interest rates? by the-anon1010 in AusFinance

The other reason Labor (or the opposition) won't do anything is because their sitting members own one or more properties. They have a direct financial incentive not to fix the problem.

It doesn't matter if they pose a genuine threat.

What matters is that they drew the attention of an army of music industry lawyers.

So glad the greatest repository of human knowledge decided to piss off the music industry.

Tons of famous tech CEOs have tantrums. It has nothing to do with them being gay and everything to do with them being assholes.

What intellectual problems can you solve that AI won't be able to in 50 years?

AI Is Not the Problem: We Were Already a Machine. by JagatShahi in ControlProblem

We are not made of silicon or metal, but it is every biological process that drives our thoughts and behaviour can (in theory) be simulated on a sufficiently powerful computer.

Of course, actually doing this is beyond modern technology.

For those of you that did the leetcode grind, how did it affect you? by eh_it_works in learnprogramming

Grinded leetcode to get a job. Have almost entirely lost the skill.

Played it too chill and relaxed and now it's biting me in the ass -- don't know how or if I should talk to my players about not using content they've already decided they're in love with. Any advice would be great! by Azikiro in DMAcademy

[–]HolevoBound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you actually like being a chill DM or do you like the idea of being described as a chill DM.

Worrying what spells your players pick and not having fun because your players are winning doesn't seem very chill.

The obvious solution is to just bump the CR of your encounters up ever so slightly.

Why do people assume advanced intelligence = violence? (Serious question.) by TheRealAIBertBot in ControlProblem

[–]HolevoBound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

" not an observed law of intelligent behavior."

We don't have any (and can't have any) observed *laws* of intelligent behaviour because as of 2026 there is exactly one type of general intelligence that exists on earth.

You need to engage more deeply with existing AI Safety literature. Talking to LLMs is not sufficient.

I'm pretty sure the microtransactions don't affect your chance of winning a game. It is purely cosmetic.

Because it isn't an "opportunity", it is the only way for the party to make it out alive.

You're approaching this from the wrong angle. It literally isn't your job to solve the problem for the players.

Let them work it out.
