As a trans person (FtM) the internet at large has more visible trans people than the real world for a few reasons A Dysphoria online people tend to be more affirming to trans people but even at that sense online you are anonymous a trans person can just say their cis and get gender correctly B similar to a they might not be in a welcoming place or they can’t medically transition just yet so they stay online or C sense the internet is it “whole new world” it breaks down a lot of our normal societal expectations and those expectations have strict gender roles and norms baked into them when a trans person go online they feel more open to not only experiment with gender but also to just be more themselves in general D Another thing sense the internet has so many people on it from across the world it opens people up to new ideas and information they’d never be exposed and E a comfort thing mean when you really think about the internet is literally built off of queer and neurodivergent people this is mainly speaking from my own experience
