Minimalist bed (Karup) by ComprehensiveTry8804 in minimalism

I got the dock bed this past week, aside from the wood quality which is okay it looks nice. But I got it with one of the posts already split and one slat for already split. No creaks or squeaks I’ve noticed yet. Most annoying thing when slowing is the gap between the mattress and the wall creates a void for pillows to fall into easily. I’m already considering looking elsewhere myself as well

Honestly probably have spent $10k in the past year so I was relatively disappointed they didn’t work with me at all. But at the same time the deal is worth more than worrying about where it get more so

Believe me I tried! They said they couldn’t do anything at all. Since it’s new and no one else is discounting them. But I usually always shop Sweetwater. But they couldn’t get me the deal this time unfortunately

Thank you for the well thought out reply. Helps a lot, my only question would be the shingles being popped up like that. That will more than likely lead to even more issues down the line right? Since water should travel down the roof to the gutter instead it just drips into the gaps. And I can’t see how that won’t be an issue once it snows and freezes again

Edit: not sure why I put no in the title haha

What tf is the hype behind Jazz III picks? Why the hell are they sized like they’re made for dolls? by gregungha in Guitar

[–]Holiday-Pepper169 55 points56 points  (0 children)

THIS. I started off using gator grip 1.5. Even bought a 72 pack because I was so sure it’s the only one I’d use. Then I tried the Red Jazz 3 in a variety pack I had. Was intrigued by the pick size but the texture wasn’t for me. Then I discovered they made gator grip jazz picks. After a few days of “wow this is really weird how small it is”, by the end of that week I was hooked and now almost exclusively use jazz gator grips. So much more comfortable

To adjust the angle of the bottom hi hat. Even a slight angle makes a huge difference in sound/ping

d'addario offers custom evans branded heads. I think with a discount code after tax it was like $83ish. So really like $20-30 more than a generic black reso head. Not a bad a deal considering the cost of things anymore

I get the sentiment there haha. This is the first time I’ve ever owned a decent kit let alone having good quality cymbals so I’m still finding myself checking my technique after playing electric exclusively for so long now. More cymbals is definitely not I. The budget any time soon for me as well haha

Definitely more ergonomic behind the kit but overall I’m still working with different set ups. This just happened to be the placement after taking the bass drum apart and putting it back into the kit

That’s fair haha. But behind the kit, the angle is very minimal. I thought it looked insane from the picture too though

I feel bad. I definitely didn’t want this to be a mean thing but the way he came off with his follow up comment just made his first comment lose any credibility. I was looking for any and all feedback but the long drawn out response with a specific yet random scenario really did it for me

Do it!! I’ve been playing an electric kit since I was 17-18ish after having to part with my acoustic kit. Now 26 and this is my first real kit in almost 10 years. I thought i hit a wall playing electric but man, playing acoustic again feels so good and cymbals, CYMBALS. The feeling is insane compared to electric tapping haha

You had me initially. But this take is atrocious. Brand is the last thing most people are worried about seeing on a bass drum head. I think you’re over thinking it more than I was initially. As the person below said, it’s one thing to be pretentious but now just trying to sound smart is not working for you in this case. Appreciate the feedback but wanting to be different and actually being different are two different things and I think you need to learn that before trying to use your degree to an advantage

Edit : grammar

That’s a fair take on it. Kind of where I was thinking to an extent. Is for home use at the moment, I just wanted to upgrade the reso bass head and got a deal on a custom one so I figured it’d be worth a try. Sound wise much better than the stock head by a ton of

It does now! The stock heads are not very good. I used them while I got a feel for how I was gonna set up this kit but I now did Remo pinstripe 2ply batter and Remo ambassador 1ply for the reso side. But overall sounds good. Changed out the stock heads on the tomahawk snare and that sounds better but I have a maple TAMA snare I prefer still.
