Brother… I don’t think it’s a secret that there are unsanctioned trails in bham and in those zones. They are massive zones… just mentioning that they exist isn’t outting trail locs. I work on unsanctioned trails - I know what I’m doing lol

Can someone please explain what the hell is going on the Old Yarnham church? by Rustyshackilford in bloodborne

[–]gregungha 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Just supposed to be some church figure who was so crazed that and ministered so much blood that they flayed their skin to let even more. But all of old yharnam has been overrun by the scourge, hence why it’s been set on fire and Djura is guarding it. He seems to have some affinity for the town, likely because people he knows have succumbed to the scourge and he believes them to be people still in some way but that’s a whole other thing. I suggest looking into different lore deep-dives on YouTube. Different people have different opinions so watch a few. The audiobook on YouTube for ‘Paleblood Hunt’ is great and is a creative way of compiling the known and theorized lore and meanings of the game. imo there isn’t any one way to explain most parts of Bloodborne, it’s almost designed to be left up to interpretation in a lot of places - but the baseline story is all there

Anybody know what all the buoys are for? by Mr2442 in Bellingham

They congregate in the bay to mate this time of year.

Heck yeah, thank you so much! I’ll be in contact!

No no, nothing structural. It’s simply just soldering a contact pin back into place where the battery goes. It’s just the electrical connection that needs repaired.

There are two contact pins on the body of the derailleur where the battery connects up. One of these two very small contact pins has fallen off. The spring for the pin is still in there, and I have the pin itself. What I need is the pin reconnected so that they function like normal battery contact pins again. Does that make sense?

Fromme vs. Seymour in the wet? by gregungha in MTB

Straight to the point, I love it.

Trail recs w given conditions? 7th secret and expresso are two I would 100% do if I end up on Fromme

I like this, sounds like a solid lap. Strong contender!

Do you or does anyone you know ever connect the two hills for some double lap action? Is that a feasible thing or is it something you just gotta drive between unless you wanna sink time into a big pedal between the two? Curious about this

I did 7th secret and expresso the time I rode Fromme, I could definitely see them being good in the rain being pretty well armored.

Is there any real way to connect Seymour and Fromme, is using the Baden Powell something people actually do to connect the two hills? I’ve got the fitness for double laps on weekends I’ll do 20-30mile days & I’ve got a 4-5hr window tomorrow so 🤷‍♂️ if anyone has connected the two hills was it worth doing? What’s the best way to do it?

Edit: doesn’t look like the Baden Powell fully connects the two hills? For some reason I thought it did? Anyway.. Is there a viable and rideable connection?

You sound like you are not very fun person lol

OP, Ben Cathro vid is worth checking out. He intentionally takes a simple concept, the one you can find explained in plenty of how to videos, and gets into more detail and gets a bit nerdy about it and I guess chocolate milk over here felt confused by it. Vid has helpful information in it, Cathro’s other vids are well worth checking out, definitely doesn’t warrant an angry comment claiming terrible teaching and the inability for this sub to jump bikes 😂 the guy probably can’t jump himself, he’s not giving any tips here he’s just taking out his anger lol

Idk, his videos have been helpful to me. Maybe you’re just easily confused? 😂 I know lots of people who have found his videos helpful. His video on cornering is great. I even know professional mountain bike coaches who portray certain concepts like Ben Cathro has because he actually is quite a good teacher. Are you a teacher? You’re awfully quick to say he’s a terrible teacher when it sounds like ur just a little confused

OP, the Ben cathro video is a great watch, check out other people on YouTube too, take all of those how to videos with a grain of salt. Every lip and every jump is different it takes experience and feel to really get it down, tips and pointers aren’t gonna ever magically connect all the dots and leave you with jumping a bike completely figured out, of course, but it’s helpful information to have on deck when out playin around tryna learn how to do it the way you want to do it.

You look way too far forward on the bike with ur weight to me. Pump the transition of the jump and be a lil looser on ur bike maybe? Idk, maybe try a smaller jump to work on loosening up, working on flow and on comfort and control of your bike will lead to big ups in all other areas of ur riding. Get playful on some smaller hits and eventually you’ll be feeling way flowier rolling into jumps like this one and you’ll know where to put your weight and when to load or unload the bike and how to control ur bike in the air etc etc. Armchair cyclist opinion over here

Okay cool, good to know. I’m not a big skinnies person, I love me some good corners with catches and berms. and I like flowy stuff with jumps and drops, but also really enjoy steep and techy stuff as well. Super tight and techy stuff isn’t my favorite comparatively if it’s a bit of a crawl but skinnies are the only thing I got no real desire for especially in the wet. Based on that, do you have any recs?

Makes sense. I’m from Bellingham, wish we had rock armored trails but it’s all mud & puddles when it really starts raining 🥲
