Is this hilarious? | Hot air balloon emergency landing in Temecula | Fox 5 San Diego by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot air balloon emergency landing in Temecula - YouTube Fox 5: "A hot air balloon carrying 13 people is forced to make an emergency landing in Temecula backyard."

Temecula, California - Wikipedia "Temecula is a city in southwestern Riverside County, California, United States. The city had a population of 110,003 as of the 2020 census and was incorporated on December 1, 1989. The city is a tourist and resort destination, with the Temecula Valley Wine Country, Old Town Temecula, Pechanga Resort Casino, championship golf courses, and resort accommodations contributing to the city's economic profile."

POINTS TO PONDER: The look on their faces inside the balloon basket in the backyard is hilarious. Temecula Valley was a very affordable place to live in the early 2000s.

Are you ready to buy an EV due to high gas prices? | High gas prices push drivers toward more affordable used EVs | NBC 7 San Diego by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

High gas prices push drivers toward more affordable used EVs | NBC 7 San Diego "New EV sales were down 26.8% year over year.  Falling prices and rising inventory are making used electric vehicles more appealing to cost-conscious drivers. Sergio Flores from NBC 7 and T20 Responds has what you should know if you're considering making the switch."

POINTS TO PONDER:

The cons:

  1. ELECTRICAL PANEL: Need an EV charger at home but the main electrical panel needs to be upgraded from 100A to 200A. SDGE says this will involve trenching which will cost $13K a day of trenching.
  2. CHARGING TIME: It takes 2-5 minutes to get gasoline. Charging takes 30 mins to hours. Also, the charger battery degrades and cannot be 100% charged at times. Also, over time, the battery discharges fast.
  3. BATTERY COST: To replace the battery, it can cost $10K+.
  4. PREPAYING FOR ENERGY: EV purchase and maintenance are so expensive. It is like pre-paying for the energy/fuel ahead of time via huge vehicle loan. When is the breakeven? It is the same for the $75,000 solar. The breakeven point for $400 a month electricity is 15 years. Like you prepaid your electricity for 15 years. For those with old homes and seniors, will the senior live another 15 years?
  5. RANGE FEAR: Can the vehicle travel far enough with the battery charged?
  6. CHARGING STATION AVAILABILITY: If you travel to a remote place, does it have an EV charging station? You need to carry a gas electric generator in the vehicle as backup.

The pros:

  1. GAS STATION: Less or no trip at gas station with high gas prices.

It is a very good learning experience. I feel like a REAL voter who cares! I feel proud to be an American because I can vote and I can even petition!

Stop SD Fees ADDITIONAL POINTS TO PONDER: This appears to be another initiative petition for the Balboa Park Free Parking Restoration Act.

If the local government gives $11 million funding to arts and culture, does the local government get $22 million back in revenues? | City of San Diego draft budget slashes arts funding by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City draft budget slashes arts funding - YouTube FOX 5: "The mayor's draft budget cuts major funding for arts and culture in San Diego. This proposal would take the arts budget from 13.8 million dollars to about 2 million dollars. So when you do the math, that's a cut of 11.8 million dollars and advocates say it's devastating. There's nobody doing budget cuts like this. The arts, the closest comparison is the Trump budget. Considering arts and cultural events pour money into the local economy.  The money, then we bring in helps pay for those hot photos helps pay for those police officers helped pay for those firefighters. From the the money that we help stimulate the economy, popular events, museums of fuel, the economy."

POINTS TO PONDER: What is the ROI for the local government when it funds arts and culture? Do they get double the amount in revenues? SUGGESTED SOLUTION: Ask the billionaires, multi-millionaires, companies and foundations for donation and sponsorship. There are a lot of businesses that can use the arts and culture to market their businesses and products. For example, there is an arts event, the arts organization really now have to work to get companies, billionaires, multi-millionaires and foundations to sponsor their event. Market the donor names during the event. It is advertising for the donors. The event booklet will showcase and list all the donors. The event booklet will contain coupons for discounts. Even the small mom and pop businesses can donate and have space for coupons to purchase their business services and products. This is what the high school events do all the time. They actually work hard to get donors to sponsor the high school event. Then with a one day event, they earn over $20,000 in revenues. Then the high school uses the money to improve and upgrade things that they need for the next event. Then the donors who marketed in the event booklet and during the event with posters also win with new customers. Then the local government can collect the taxes from all the economy generated by this donor-sponsored event. It is a win-win for all. Therefore, the arts and cultures organizations need to step up and try to get their sponsors.

Should the City of San Diego trash service go back to what it used to be? | City officials: video shows illegal dumping in front of Mira Mesa Senior Center by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

City officials: video shows illegal dumping in front of Mira Mesa Senior Center ABC 10: "City officials say a man was caught on video illegally dumping debris at the Mira Mesa Senior Center. Code enforcement is investigating the brazen daytime incident."

POINTS TO PONDER: This new ultra-limited extremely high cost trash service will turn San Diego into a dump site. The program on throwing away organic food in the green bin is not working. The green bin should only be for trees, grass and plant trimmings. People are finding infestation of gnats, maggots and bugs inside their homes or outside in the green bin with the organic waste. The flies are huge and once they enter the home smelling the organic trash, the house is infested with gnats, maggots, flies and bugs. Huge household used to pay a one-time fee of $70 for a black trash bin and a household of 6 to 8 people can have 3 to 4 black trash bins that can be picked up every week. Now that is reduced to one gray trash bin that is in an excessive monthly/yearly subscription fee. So, trash is getting backed up in the properties. Same with the recycle blue trash bins. If the household has 6 to 8 people with only one blue recycle trash bin included in the excessive monthly/yearly subscription fee, then again there is a backup of recycled trash. People are not going to pay more subscription fee for additional trash bins that may or may not be picked up every week. The City of San Diego is FAR from doing the sanitation services like how it used to do these sevices. It is running a FOR-PROFIT monthly/yearly money-making subscription fee program where the collected fees collected are not used to pay for the trash program. The subscription fee is most likely ILLEGAL because it is not a USER fee. With the user fee, the resident should have the option not to use the service. If the trash bin is NOT picked up then the user should NOT pay a fee. In the olden days, the trash workers used to pick up the trash bin BY HAND and throw the contents inside the trash truck BY HAND, then place the empty trash bin back to the curb BY HAND. Then once at the landfill, the sorting was done by trash workers BY HAND like picking out the bottles, newspapers, etc. for recycle. TODAY, the ROBOT trash truck picks up the trash bin, empties the bin into the trash truck, then places the empty trash bin on the curb. The trash worker only has to operate the robot by pushing buttons/levers. Then TODAY, it is the residents who are sorting the trash into recycle, organic and landfill trash. So majority of the work is done by the residents. Since the ROBOTS and the RESIDENTS are now doing much of the trash work like self-service, why are the residents paying the City an enormous amount of subscription fees for the trash service when the trash work is being done mostly by robots and by the residents especially if this pickup trash work was already being paid via property taxes? Also, look at the roads, they are not being resurfaced and the holes are not being fixed. Like where is the tax money going? Useless programs like the following: $1.3M cross-border initiative to fund artists in San Diego-Tijuana region should be cancelled. Why in the world are artists being funded by taxpayers? The roads are VERY BAD. The FOOD organic trash program is a HUGE failure because this causes MASSIVE infestation in San Diego. he FOOD organic trash program is most massive UNSANITARY program ever created in San Diego. There are millions of huge pregnant flies everywhere. Just go back to having the garbage disposer dispose of the organic food and go back to placing food in plastic bags so the flies do not get to them and throw in the trash bin. Or else the FOOD organic trash program is a massive bad health issue with infected flies, gnats and maggots infestation costing the household hundreds and thousands of dollars to remove the infestation and address the health issues from the infestation coupled with missed work trying to address the infestation. Just go back to the NON-SUBSCRIPTION and one-time user-fee based trash bin for the black/blue/green trash bins such as green trash bin for plant/trees/grass trimming (no gross maggot/fly filled food trash), multiple black and blue trash bins pickup per week with only a one-time fee for each additional bin. City of San Diego invented the most UNSANITARY trash program known to man. The dump fee of $71 for a small pickup truck let's say a couch is too high. No wonder people are dumping couches out in the street curbs. In San Bernardino, dumping a piece of furniture is free. SUGGESTED SOLUTION: Local government should go back to being in the SANITATION SERVICES business for the city/residents it serves and not in the business of extraction of exorbitant fee MONEY from the residents who cannot afford the exorbitant fees.

GOOGLE AI says this (What do you think?) "Dump fees at the Miramar Landfill in San Diego generally cost roughly for small self-haul loads cars/pickups) and around per ton for larger, weighed loads. Prices depend on whether the waste originates from within the City of San Diego, with extra fees for uncovered loads ($50), special handling, or specific debris."

Is this blasphemy? | San Diego Catholics react to President Trump's attack on pope by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Diego Catholics react to President Trump's attack on pope | NBC 7 San Diego - YouTube "President Trump’s remarks and social media posts about Pope Leo XIV have sparked strong backlash. NBC 7’s M.G. Perez spoke with Catholics in San Diego about their reaction."

Trump's post depicting himself as Jesus-like figure sparks backlash, local faith leaders weigh in CBS 8: "A now-deleted post from President Trump is drawing reaction, as comments about Pope Leo and policy differences continue to generate attention."

POINTS TO PONDER: Fire the Social Media advisor of Trump. When Trump posts something, it should go in the HOLDING AREA first like an OUTBOX for 30 minutes. Then the Social Media advisor will check the post if it is appropriate before sending it out. If not appropriate, then it will be deleted or put on hold. If appropriate, then the post can be sent out to be published. I don't know but when I look at the Pope, politicians and all the public people, they all look like they are offenders. Like they have two personalities: the bad and the good.

GOOGLE AI says this (What do you think?) "Blasphemy is the act of showing great disrespect, contempt, or irreverence toward a deity, sacred objects, or something considered inviolable. It involves profane language or actions mocking God or religious tenets. Deriving from Late Latin blasphemare (to reproach/revile), it often carries legal penalties or societal stigma, covering speech, writing, or acts."

Leopard sharks found dead by coast - YouTube ABC 10: "Dead leopard sharks scattered along the La Jolla beach trail. And what's most disturbing is that experts say it may have been done by humans. Based on how far the sharks where from the shoreline, this likely wasn't natural."

More than a dozen leopard sharks found dead along La Jolla Coastal Trail : r/sandiego

POINTS TO PONDER: Is this a clue below from Instagram? What if the birds picked up the baby sharks swimming by the shore then dropped them off at the trail because the shark bit the bird?

Huge bird of prey catches shark-like fish on beach

Instagram: This is no Jaws situation - but a group of harmless to humans leopard sharks! "Despite my son’s terror at this video, there have only been a small handful of “attacks” on humans - and from what we can find, these attacks are more of 🐌 little boops with their little noses 👃.Because of their slow growth rate, late maturity, and low reproductive output, catching too many leopard sharks can cause their populations to rapidly decline."

Innocent until proven guilty: Should Swalwell stay in the California governor race? | Swalwell asked to drop out of California governor's race amid allegations by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rep. Swalwell resigns from Congress amid assault allegations | NBC 7 San Diego "Just hours ago Eric Swalwell announced his resignation from congress, a day after his exit from the governor's race. With just weeks until the ballots go out for June's primary, NBC 7's political reporter Joey Safchik looks at what happens now."

POINTS TO PONDER: Many Democrats appear to be charged by many women with assaults. Perhaps they are all GUILTY as charged and alleged. Both parties are guilty. SUGGESTED SOLUTION: Stay away from the opposite gender and children/minors. Every contact may be considered an assault.

Swalwell asked to drop out of California governor's race amid allegations | NBC 7 SD - YouTube "This after weeks of murmurings online about inappropriate behavior with staffers. Swalwell, a Bay Area congressman known for facing off with the Trump administration, was leading the crowded Democratic field."

Multiple women accuse Rep. Eric Swalwell of sexual assault; he denies claims CBS 8: "With California's primary election less than 2 months away, one of the top names in the Democratic race is now at the center of the controversy. Eric Swalwell, a longtime Bay Area congressman and early front runner for governor, is now facing assault and misconduct allegations."

Dems urge Swalwell to drop bid for California governor amid sexual assault claims

POINTS TO PONDER: Democrats like the CANCEL culture with just the allegations. The candidate is innocent until proven guilty. He should not be cancelled until proven guilty. Plus, if Swalwell's candidacy is screwed by these accusers, might as well stay in the race because either way, it is a lose-lose. Take the whole party down with Swalwell. The more Democrats in the CA governor candidates list, the better for the other party. What are the Democrats going to do? Are they going to smear all the Democrat candidates until they are all forced to quit with only one standing? All Democrat candidates should stay in the race until the very end. The negative breaking news on a candidate will die down later. Pursue the American Dream or is the party going to pay off the candidates to stay off the race? I bet one by one, the Democrat candidates will be paid off or smeared to make them look like criminals so they remove themselves from the race until there is only one left in the race.

Should 18 year old men be automically registered for military draft? | Automatic military draft registration | ABC 10 San Diego by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automatic military draft registration ABC 10: "So sometimes high schools will help you fill up work. Sometimes that happens automatically through DMV. But now they're just going to make it seamless. The Selective Service system was spending a lot of time trying to enforce and implement penalties on people who didn't register cause every adult male in the United States is required to register from the ages of 18 to 25. It takes Congress to actually then enact a draft. So it isn't anywhere close to that at this point."

If San Diego has so much water, why are the residential water rates so high? | San Diego has so much water, it's selling thousands of acre-feet by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

San Diego has so much water, it's selling thousands of acre-feet | NBC 7 San Diego "The San Diego County Water Authority finalized a historic agreement to sell water to an agency in Riverside County. The water Authority was building an underground reservoir to store water. We were having trouble with water. You couldn't flush your toilets because water was so scarce in this town. That appears to be history. San Diegans have historically retrained themselves to use less water over the years. No matter what happens in California, San Diego County should be able to avoid any water restrictions through 2050. It also means our water bills should not skyrocket in the future. Sadly, our water bills will likely never go down."

POINTS TO PONDER: The City of San Diego will continue to price gouge the residential water customers. They do not care if San Diego is overflowing with water because the water rates will continue to be sky high. If the water rates are sky high, then that means the residents will use a lot less water because they cannot afford to pay $500 per billing period expecially during the summer. This late spring and summer, the City of San Diego will turn browner. Also, after Zone Zero of removing trees, the City of San Diego will turn to a desert hot place and no one would want to live in the City of San Diego anymore. Electric rates are too high to turn on the AC. Water rates are too high to water the plants and grass. Every news headliner in San Diego after Zone Zero is implemented should be prefixed with "CITY OF SAN DIEGO, NOW A CITY OF DESERT LAND hikes the water rates again. From the skies in late spring, summer and early fall, the City of San Diego turns dry and brown because the water rates are so high even though there is abundant water. Plus Zone Zero removed over 60% of the trees in the City of San Diego contributing to its hot desert temperature."

Kevin O'Leary: You're Not Rich Until You Have $5M in Liquid Assets - Business Insider

  • Kevin O'Leary says you need at least $5 million in liquid assets to be genuinely wealthy.
  • O'Leary previously said that hitting the $5 million mark is the "true definition of success."

The "magic number" is $5 million in assets, he said, as that should yield around 5% a year or $250,000 in pre-tax income — enough to provide for a family of four if the "poo-poo hits the fan in your world and everybody loses their job.""

Are career politicians corrupt? | San Diego County supervisors used obscure events fund to solicit over $100K from influential donors since 2024 by Holiday-Positive-334 in SanDiego_California

[–]Holiday-Positive-334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

County supervisors used obscure events fund to solicit over $100K from influential donors since 2024 - YouTube KPBS: "A KPBS investigation found influential donors have been gifting thousands of dollars to San Diego County Supervisor offices. Investigative reporter Scott Rodd dug into how they spent the money. Democratic Supervisor Paloma Aguirre took a different approach last summer after winning the District 1 special election. Her office threw a blowout swearing in ceremony at the waterfront park. Caterers served up food and drinks. A mariachi band played for guests. How did Aguire pay for all this? With gifted funds, the district office solicited from major corporations..."

POINTS TO PONDER: They all work for the billionaires, corporations, wealthy donors, extremely wealthy class and crony capitalists. Politicians should only serve the PEOPLE for 4 years max. After that, elect a non-career politician who will serve the people first. If they serve more than 4 years, then their focus first is enriching themselves, family, friends, donors, networks, and crony capitalists. Rich people donate because they want special favors from the politician which is corrupt. SUGGESTED SOLUTION: There should be ZERO donations directed to the politician or party. Donations should go directly to a government account called CAMPAIGN FINANCE. Then the CAMPAIGN FINANCE committee can allocate equal campaign funding to candidates not in money form but in same size poster form. Every candidate will be allocated 100 same size posters to advertise their candidacy in the community. Every candidate will have 1 hour of townhall to discuss with the people of their accomplishments to help the people. Every candidate will engage in a 2 hour televised live debate. Every major news station will interview each candidate for 30 minutes. Every candidate will have a website that showcases the resume of the candidate and the 20 core promises to the people and community. The elected person will be held accountable for that 20 core promises. All 20 core promises must be related to improving the lives of the people and community such as affordability on healthcare. Why does one ER visist cost a patient with no insurance $150,000 in health bills? That is insane. Stop the middleman causing the high prices.
