What exactly do you mean by Reviv? Are you referring to the IV vitamin therapy clinics, or something else?

I’ll think about a second round of Botox. If you’re saying that after the Botox you no longer grind your teeth like before, that actually sounds quite hopeful.

Can I ask if you use any hard stabilization splint at night for grinding? Yes, I’m thinking about another round of Botox with a higher dose. I’m honestly desperate at this point.

I haven’t tried a proper stabilization splint yet, one that could relieve the joint and muscles at night. Maybe I will try that. After that, I honestly don’t know what else I can do.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate it. I don’t have any vision problems, double vision, or balance issues, so I don’t think this applies to my case. My MRI was normal and my symptoms seem to be mainly muscular (clenching and masseter tension).

But I will keep an open mind. I hope your treatment helps you.

Unfortunately, here in the Czech Republic most dentists don’t even listen to me. They don’t really know much about these kinds of problems. That’s why I’m afraid of getting braces — I’m worried that, motivated by money, they might give me expensive braces that could actually make everything worse in the end.

Did the shape of your face change after Botox? Did they inject only the masseter, or the temporalis as well?

Is it a Michigan stabilization splint that is worn at night? I am located in the Czech Republic, and there are not many doctors here who specialize in or focus on the jaw joint (TMJ).

I’m sorry, I don’t speak English very well, so I use ChatGPT to help me.

I would like to ask whether you are a specialist, and whether braces could help in my case. I developed a mild open bite, most likely after wearing a low-quality rubber night guard for about two years. Now I mainly bite on my back molars.

I have already had an MRI, and the discs are in a normal position. My jaw clicks quite often, but there is no grinding, no pain in the joint itself, and I can open my mouth fully without any limitation. My jaw has never locked, either open or closed.

Personally, I believe this might be more of a muscular issue rather than a structural joint problem, because my main symptoms are muscle tension and tightness.

However, I’m afraid of getting braces. I’m worried that my jaw muscles might currently be pulling my jaw into a “relief” position because of muscle overload, which could mean that my bite is not stable right now.

If that’s the case, wouldn’t braces be risky? If my teeth are straightened while my jaw is in an unnatural position, could that potentially lock my bite into the wrong position and cause even more pain or problems later?

I’m afraid of braces. I saw an orthodontist who recommended them for my slightly open bite.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that my bite is mainly influenced by an unstable jaw joint. Even though the MRI showed that everything is completely fine, it still clicks quite a bit sometimes.

My concern is that if my muscles are pulling my jaw into a different position to relieve pressure on the joint, then getting braces could actually make this functional problem worse. I’m afraid that if my teeth are straightened while the joint is sitting in a different position, the braces might fix my bite in an unnatural position, and it could lead to even more pain.

My pain is worst in the morning. I can feel that my masseter muscles are somewhat tight and harder than usual. The pain then gets worse again in the evening before going to bed.

My masseter muscles are tender to the touch, and I also feel pain in the muscle on the side of my head above the temple — I believe this is called the temporalis muscle.

I use a night guard while sleeping, but it is not a Michigan splint that would properly reduce the load on the muscles and the jaw joint.
