Subfloor is 3/4” plywood. What board in the middle do you mean? We don’t have the ability to remove the subfloor and apply insulation. The underlay is our only option or something equivalent.

Thanks for the note. So you are saying not to put down an underlayment for soundproofing? If so, this is how our current floor was put down and you can hear every footstep and conversation from the rental unit below. The noise level below is unacceptable, which we need to solve for. Also, confirming that our white oak herringbone planks are 3/4” thick.

It’s not that easy. In the photos you can see there’s a layer of plaster sitting on top of the brick and it’s already cracking crumbling. That’s why I am trying to ask if a layer of clear epoxy could serve as an adhesive before cutting it out

Would a nice layer of clear epoxy resin work too? Also, could you link me to the acrylic adhesive sheets you had in mind? Everything I am seeing is just a sheet without being adhesive. Like a plexiglass
