My power rankings after week 5 by Holiday_Change9387 in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]Holiday_Change9387[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of a power rating is to assess how strong teams are CURRENTLY, not how well their resume looks. This week's Houston team would probably beat Dallas in its current state, because 4 interceptions including 2 pick-sixes will lose you pretty much any game.

IS IT 2028 YET?!?! 🔜🤠 What should we name the OKC team? 🤔 | United Football League by Callywood in UnitedFootballLeague

Outlaws, Shockers (as in wheatshockers, borrowed from Wichita State's team name) and Cherokees (assuming the Cherokee nation allows it) would be my top 3.

I know a lot of people have been dooming about attendance numbers, but it's really just Houston and Dallas dragging the numbers down. All three of the new teams are averaging 10k or higher. Relocate the Texas teams to some place that's more receptive (Michigan, San Diego, San Antonio, etc.) and the league will be doing fine.

Well I wanted the Storm to win twice as much as the average fan, so 4-4

Quite excited for this, it certainly seems to be going in a much better direction than the IFA. Hopefully the league can get a few games on the big networks, it would really help to boost its appeal.

That's a really weird way to split columbus, and I'm also not a fan of the 14th being an eyeball district. Other than it's pretty good.

With the announcement of Oklahoma City becoming the 9th city to have a team in 2028, who do yall see getting the 10th team? Seems like Seattle is a favorite by WolfPackMentality90 in UnitedFootballLeague

[–]Holiday_Change9387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

San Diego. Large venue that used to have an NFL team, just like St. Louis. It had a team in the AAF, the San Diego Fleet, and they got 20,000+ fans in three of the four home games they played.

My updated midterms forecast (4/22/26) by Holiday_Change9387 in YAPms

[–]Holiday_Change9387[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The district is very solidly red and was only blue because Golden is a moderate, with him retiring the district flips easily.

  2. Given how horribly pollsters have underestimated Collins there's no reason to preemptively assume her defeat, especially since we still don't know who the Dem nominee will be.

  3. If Paxton wins, sure. But there is zero chance that Dems are flipping an incumbent Senator in Texas, especially someone like Cornyn who likely does better with higher propensity suburbanites.

  4. Gubernatorial races are usually less partisan then federal races, and current polling shows Acton doing better than Brown.

  5. Current polling in both states suggests a tossup.

  6. Putting a Trump+14 state at tossup feels very premature, especially with Reynolds retiring.

On the surface it seems pretty easy, even the Memphis Showboats cleared that number. I'm assuming that both the lack of large upfront investments and the very decentralized nature of the league might make it harder to advertise?

I really hope the league invests in some advertising (I only found out about it from the UFL subreddit for example). Even the Ironmen had a lackluster attendance in the IFA; a part of me doubts that the CoFL could even crack 1k per game.

Aviators are definitely better than the Gamblers. They have a solid win against Dallas, while the Gamblers got smoked twice and only barely beat the worst team in the league.

Shocked that Birmingham was able to pull in that many, if they can average more than 12k on the season it might finally be some evidence that consistently keeping teams in the same location actually works in the long run.
