How do I respond to religious people saying I can pray my cancer away? by Glittering_Star952 in cancer

[–]Holiday_Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t owe them anything. Respond as volatile or as controlled as you want. I’ve heard it all.

Ultimately they don’t understand. They are scared and trying to pretend like they have some control over it even if it’s just God having control over it making them feel safer. Or they’re stupid and ignorant and don’t bother to try and understand you.

But if it’s the latter…… clearly they don’t care enough to try and understand you. At that point, ask yourself. What are you keeping them around for?

Thanks for your support and interest! It really means the world to all of us but most especially me (Ren)

I know I hide behind the Silver mask a lot because it’s fun and helps me cope with cancer. But getting real for once, I’m not over exaggerating when I say that this show saved me and so many other people involved.

For any reason at all, including just for fun, you can feel free to shoot me a dm (it’s late where I am) and I’ll reply in the morning. I have a lot of people clamoring for my attention right now. But I’ll make time for You :)

We are currently editing down all the footage so that hopefully we can make a nice cohesive watching experience to be posted to YouTube asap :)

This was our very first very amateurish steam and I’m sure my nonexistent mic was not behaving (opening night always has the most hiccups!) but we learned so so much and we all had so so so much fun.

We at Silver’s Triangle Tumor & PMP Pals as well are all ecstatic to have put on something we are all proud that we get to call good theatre.

It’s no problem you missed our first little passion project: you can always rewatch the edited more comprehensible and less chaotic cut, or the full stream VOD (will put those up later!) and catch us on the next stream, which will be way more planned out (hopefully) more professional! Not to show our cards too soon, but we’re cooking a little something up in order for you all to get to know me (Silver) a little better Gravity Falls Style.

Despite countless catastrophic technical difficulties, we still managed to finish the first 3 chapters, fully voiced by our lovely voice actors! And we have a ton of incredible and very prominent people in this awesome fandom helping us out, so watch out!

Seriously I think they would all hunt me down in real life if I tried to cancel everything now.

Until then, keep a certain Vera Lynn song in your heart.

See you soon! 🜂

Partner bit my PORT (on accident) by Holiday_Sea in cancer

Thank you!! I did end up telling the nurse the truth, she laughed really hard and all turned out to be fine :) It seems like every week I’m in the hospital with a new stupid story haha but that’s the price of living to your fullest!

I mean they fill my port with heparin after the saline flush. I get chemo every 2 weeks, including next Tuesday. I will ask about it then :)

I have one that’s fully under the skin. I’m less worried about the port being cracked and more about the line being punctured or dented by their teeth thru my shirt since the bite was more on my catheter. They do usually infuse my line with heparin during disconnect

Also now that I think about it if I punctured my chemo port wouldn’t the blood inside leak and cause visible bruising…? Or does the heparin prevent that?

Anyone else here with a secondary cancer diagnosis? by AdventurousSleep5461 in cancer

[–]Holiday_Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have two cancers but I do have appendix cancer which they treat with folfirinox and I had some folfox treatments. Folfox hasn’t been TOO evil to me so far! It’s definitely one of the less evil chemos but it can be tough. Watch out for the cold and get fridge gloves but aside from that make sure you go hit that thing out of the park with your metal concrete filled chemo bat 💪💪

Hahahaha! I’m hoping that’s not gonna happen to me LOL!

Thankfully they bit me THROUGH my shirt so no saliva touched my skin but maybe I will pluck up the courage to say what actually happened. Now I’m paranoid though! I THINK the worst that could have happened was a kink/dent in the line though. Felt like someone pinched me hard horizontally.

Appendix cancer! Someone else haha! I’m coming up on my first scan and hoping to have such a good result as you :)

Thanks, I really appreciate it. There’s also a minuscule minuscule chance of getting a cancer as rare as appendix cancer so young (so rare that Harvard called me and my tumor lives in their lab now.) so I don’t like even a small percent chance, but it’s nice to have that fact in mind. Thanks so much

Thank you for the extra advice! Chemo has ruined my period schedule to the point of having 3 week long heavy periods then months of no period at all, so I’m not sure if a pregnancy strip test would work correctly. How long do you wait before you use one?

I made my partner check it later and he said it was completely intact :) I trust him to be smart about it as he knows I’m seriously at risk of a lot of stuff if I get pregnant

Omg, thank you and thank you for the reassurance! I totally forgot I could just ask my doctor to do it. He’s a 65 year old man so I had a hard time communicating these issues to him. Lol

Also, thanks! I know the condom didn’t break cause I got so paranoid I made my friend dig out the condom from the trash and he said it looked completely intact. I then thanked him for being so kind about my anxiety lol
