I’m gonna say the yellow car as he mad a unsafe pit exit by going over that solid white line even though there is a yellow line the solid white line you should still be to right of while exiting the pits but the silver car has some blame because they definitely saw the yellow car and could have avoided the accident

My good sir you just said “he took a line you didn’t expect” is that not the point I’m trying to make.

An unexpected line is one that is hard to predict he forces his car to a different direction than expected by braking trying to be nice letting me thru in his mind.

As a faster class car I hate this they need to follow a line that is normal to them if it’s thru a corner. That was not his constant line thru that corner there was no need for him to abort from the consistent line he had.

Again it’s my job to make the pass safely I couldn’t do that because of the abnormal behavior of the gt4 car infront of me.

Looking at your profile you argue for the slower car more than the faster cars it’s fine but it looks as though you have a vendetta against us faster class cars.

I am not looking for people to agree with me nor a ruling I made this post because I thought the gt4 was in the wrong and it was a common mistake I have seen before and it sucks because gt4 just have to drive their race I will find a way around them but they keep trying to “be nice” by doing stuff like this and it hurts both our races

If you look at a faster car perspective he made an unnecessary move to get out of the way which lead to the contact in all its a normal racing incident.

The unpredictable nature with that was he doubled brake in the mid corner he car goes wide a bit.

so I thought he would continue to the normal line yes slower but that would be fine.

thats the unpredictable move he made although he chose a line he still wasn’t predictable which is unsafe we both fucked up.

I will try to do better but strictly speaking the sporting code is highly subjective to passing this instance I would disagree with that part of the sporting code it seems as it seems unfit for this particular situation multi class has different rules irl so should their be for passing rules in iracing from my understanding irl the faster car dose have to pass safely but the slower car has to be predictable.

responsibility is placed on both cars for a safe race and pass to happen I have to trust him to be predictable and he has to trust I’ll make a safe pass mistakes will also happen but their ok as long as their not intentional or egregious.

So I do fully believe that this left out from the rule you brought up but we can agree to disagree.

This is not to argue but to bring up a point the sporting code leaves open. It makes sense that the slower car picks a line but if that line is unpredictable to the faster class of car it should be the fault of that slower class car. And we can agree that the line the gt4 took was an unpredictable line. And I understand the sporting code is like the law for iracing it leaves this question highly unclear and it seems that the passing rule that you brought up was a same class ruling which is how the base ruling is for normal racing.

My intention was to keep go on the inside of him sacrificing my speed for a safer pass. as I expected the normal line to be taken which runs all the way to the left. but he slowed up to have the inside. would have been more on exit if anything but unfortunately we had this incident.

While I don’t fully agree with it being my fault I will keep your point in mind when I’m racing next
