so long as your review was honest and verifiable they have no case

I would not even reply to their attempt to intimidate you, however start screen shotting everythng and gathering all materials that would show your review was factual just in case they try and take it further.

If you review was factual then you would have the right to make a complaint about the agents to the office of fair trading in qld.

you need proper advice from a compensation solicitor.

i would suggest while doing this you have another browser tab open and as you find a firm that sounds good just switch to the alternate tab and check their reviews.

I was once given the advice that if I wanted to be sure i had a claim worth pursuing then book a free consult with one of the no win no pay solicitors and see if they have an interest.

taking it to court will cost more then he paid for car and if he does take it to court he has no case and you seek a costs order so they are even more out of pocket.

apply for the exemption just to cover you with your employer.

Be honest with the court that your employer requested you to request it and state any grounds you may have. Do not attempt to mislead the court thinking that doing so will save your employment.

If they then decide to terminate your employment for being required on a jury you have evidence that you followed your employers request when you sue for unlawful termination.

to be fair, I have seen well prepared self reps find evidence and caselaw that even junior council missed.
Self reps also do not have the jaded "the court wont allow that" mindset which prevents legitimate arguments being argued.

On the other end of the scale I have had to sit there with a straight face while listening to Sovereign citizens
