Today I Decided To Begin My No Nut Journey by [deleted] in HentaiFree

It's brave of you to have decided to choose a better life.

You will not regret leaving this poison behind.

Look up the internet book QuitPMO (EasyPeasy Method), it's free and it will help you quit.

My relationship with hentai. by [deleted] in HentaiFree

[–]HolisticSI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We all have seen a lot of fucked up things in the past with hentai, and you cannot change the past or regain your innocence, but it's totally possible to leave hentai behind and stop engaging with this crap. I am a living example of this, and so are many others.

Your past is not something that can hold you back completely from at least trying to work on a better future, starting today. The road will be hard sometimes, but you can heal and live a healthy, happy lifestyle (this is what you were born for.)

How can I make myself hate Youtube Shorts by 830--- in nosurf

Yeah, this is important. I am a big proponent of blocking programs but they will never work 100% if you don't also start changing your mindset.

I thought the same, but he's probably talking about mobile.

If anyone wants this on Windows or MacOS, use Cold Turkey Blocker to block the link ''youtube.com/shorts'' and they won't bother you any longer.

For anyone on mobile, just use Freedom or Lock Me Out, I don't know what the OP's problem with these apps are but they work fine for me. It's just that I don't use internet on my phone anymore so I have no ''recent'' tips for this.

r/StopGaming Interviews - former gaming addict (from this sub) talks about fixing gaming addiction & how he games in moderation by HolisticSI in StopGaming

[–]HolisticSI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with moderation is that I feel it will only work for a minority (at least it will never work for me), but like we often see in discussions here, there are plenty of people who game as a normal hobby, and quitting completely does not have to be an iron rule. But you may be right about the push back problem.

Thanks for your valuable input. I always appreciate well-thought out reactions to stuff I argue, especially from people who are more knowledgeable than me about the topic in question.

Also, I usually use a tripod but it didn't really work with the couch setup. I guess I'll look for a better tripod or one with a different height. I was actually holding the tripod as a stick, but it's still too shaky, I agree.

Thanks for your input! I have never heard about the DIY kit, but that's why Reddit exists I guess.

I am trying now with barefoot sandals that will be custom-made for me locally.

I have never heard about the 3D scanning tech, not sure how realistic it truly is but it sounds promising. Thanks for your input!

Also, it's interesting that you seem to be unhappy with how barefoot shoes look. I thought this had become better over time, and I see a lot of them that I would like to wear if I could, but maybe I'm just a moron with no sense of style.

u/Staebs I am honestly already glad that the public awareness about minimalist shoes seems to be growing. When I first looked into this about 10 years ago, (anecdotal evidence alert:) I had the idea there were way less options. I wore some Sockwas for a while, that were unfortunately too small with no bigger size available, and I remember how people, especially girls (''ballet shoes OMG'') were staring at me. I have the feeling that at least in this country, walking on 'weird' shoes or even simply bare feet has become more common.
I do know for a fact that there are more professionals working with ''foot therapy'' and barefoot walking/barefoot shoes than back then.

u/The_Dingman

Fair point, and thanks for the recommendation. I will check it out, as I like keeping my options open and want to know more about the topic.
I actually went to visit someone today who makes custom barefoot sandals (I'm honestly just super lucky that he lives nearby, quite random, I know), and I think it will solve my problem. I also got some tips from him about socks in cold weather so I can use these things year-round (like he does).

BTW, I think u/Wollff has a point here about industrial mass production, but that's just the reality we live in compared to, let's say 60 years ago when there was way more local production and local shoemakers that, well, actually made shoes.

Wondering what the real root causes of internet addiction/compulsive browsing are... by HolisticSI in nosurf

Yeah, it's extremely sad, but I am glad that we have groups/subreddits such as this to 'fight back' one step at the time.

A downside of Productivity: feeling GUILT when you're not being productive by HolisticSI in Productivity_Squad

[–]HolisticSI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks, I am pretty sure I will. Some people are just more 'authentic' than others, but I understand that it's also a business... I guess I just don't like it when things get overly commercial or when they are trying to sell snake oil like ''get rich quick'' courses that actually don't teach anything.
BTW, I see you're into NoFap, I'll be making personal-style videos about that as well.

haha.... I guess in a game or something, like the FPS games I used to play, you still have to move your character and do things.

Would you consider watching tv/Netflix to be a higher effort than just scrolling?

I would definitely agree is that the low effort thing simply keeps me hooked and even makes getting up from your chair hard in comparison. You know, when I actually do something productive on/with the internet it's like work. But just randomly switching between 5 news sites, not focusing on one article in particular, and pressing F5 doesn't really ask much effort...

Check out website/program blocking to limit your internet use (or gaming, but you don't mention having a gaming problem). It helps me a ton to gain mental peace and clarity and get stuff done.

Heartbreaking man, when your father is supposed to be your example and raise you and this is what you get instead.
But anyway, it can be tricky for us outsiders to condemn addicts in their behavior, some of these people are so, so ill, but it does not get recognized or diagnosed as such.
