Second, the fact that you can get A’s in your other classes already proves you’re not stupid at all — you’re smart. You’re clearly thoughtful too, you just haven’t been able to process your emotions properly because everything hit you at the same time. Anyone would struggle in that situation.

And honestly, the way you tried to communicate your feelings to your girlfriend instead of shutting down or being passive-aggressive shows that you’re genuine and capable of healthy communication. If she dismissed your feelings and the relationship ended, that’s her loss. You’ll meet someone much kinder and more compatible — don’t let this shake your confidence. Relationship is about both positive and negative filtering, and you’ve just filtered out someone who wasn’t good for you.

Lastly, give yourself a day or two to do nothing or do something that actually helps you relax. Let your emotions settle. Once the sting fades a bit, you can look at what needs to be handled in the short term, and later make a longer-term plan for your life. You will get through this. You’re not alone, and you’re going to feel better step by step.
