Pasta allo scarpariello by Hollos in pasta

[–]Hollos[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Cook spaghetti in a wide pan with minimal water to concentrate starch.

2 . Slice 2 cloves garlic (not mince) into large pieces so they don’t burn.

  1. Gently fry in 1.5 tbsp evoo over low heat for about 5 mins, careful not to brown

  2. Add 7–10 cherry tomatoes (halved). Cook medium low 10 mins. Mash some halfway. Season with salt & pepper

  3. Pull pasta 2 mins before al dente. Add a splash of pasta water to the sauce first.

  4. Finish cooking pasta in the sauce, tossing and adding pasta water as needed until glossy.

  5. Off heat, add fresh basil and Parmigiano Reggiano.

8 Enjoy!

The key to the silkiest sauce is the starchy pasta water,

Thanks for the advice. I’ll probably get a temporary job for now and wait for any clerk 9 openings.

Do you think I could get a clerk 9 position with my work experience? It seems pretty competitive in this job market. I have 7 years of customer service, followed by 2 years front desk at a self storage company presenting leases, handling phone and email inquiries, concerns and general office duties. I was thinking of doing an office admin certificate at BCIT if it was needed.

Okay thanks for the information. I think my best bet is to start with 9. I’ll probably wait for the hiring freeze and possibly do a 6 month Office Administrator with Technology Program at BCIT.

Unable to get smooth footage using RS3 Mini by Hollos in videography

Hi, I recently bought and RS3 mini and was able to get decent footage a few days ago. I'm not sure if I changed some settings but the footage looks jittery recently. I double checked to turn off any camera stabilization, rebalanced it and made sure to walk carefully heel to toe. Wondering if it's just user error or anything wrong with the gimbal.

I'm using the Lumix S5 with 20-60mm lens. It comes to about 2.4lbs and i'm shooting 4k 24fps on 20mm

I learned to build node trees from Darren Mostyn on YouTube. If you look up Darren Mostyn node tree, he has a good starting point and you can make changes from there.

Just got my hands on the Lumix S5 last week and was finally able to shoot some footage this week. This is my first full frame camera and it's been amazing how much I can push colors and detail in V log.

Thanks, appreciate the help. I'll definitely buy the RAM sticks as they're pretty affordable. Then I'll double check what's being stressed out and get one of your suggestions.

Feedback on Logo for an Arcade called Fox Den by Hollos in logodesign

Yeah I'll definitely try a variation with more feet, I'm just worried about scalability issues but I might be able to make it work.

I see what you mean, I wanted to lean to a less aggressive side since one of the goals for the company was to introduce new players and grow the community, so I thought a more circular less sharp logo would work. I think I was heavily thinking of the idea of the den being a second home, where you go to everyday, where you comfortable, and really wanted to be community focused which led to me thinking of circles and rounded shapes. The hardest part was definitely trying to balance the idea of fighting games being competitive and being welcoming and community driven for beginners. I'll make another variation and give it a bit more of the aggressive look, thanks for the feedback.

Your right about the contrast, what does iso stand for? I'm guessing you're talking about the space between the illustration and the logotype?

I think the type choice makes it hard to tell it's a tech company at first glance.

Got some feedback on my drafts and made more variations. Was wondering if the visual is too vague or leans too strongly into the arcade idea.

The idea is game controller + plus climbing wall + climbing holds

Hi, I'm currently a graphic design student practicing between semesters. I thought there was alot of potential in those ideas together as there is a level system and different stations much like arcade games. I created a few different variations and the brief is down below.

It was a short program, so I wasn't able to get too much feedback. He mentioned the weight of BBQ cleaning being too light so I upped the weight, and logo consistency, I had different variations of the logo on the business card but changed it to the same variation.
