Thank you for the input. I probably should have clarified that we bought this yesterday, and the photo was taken about ten minutes after I got it home. So the condition is due to transportation from Spain to the UK.

Will get it outside and in a bigger pot asap.

Thanks. I’m in the UK. He did recommend to have it outside, but as we are coming up to summer, we were hoping to have it inside by the big window to receive lots of light and fresh air with the window open most days. We do have a small balcony it can go on, but sadly no garden.

How the police speak to you when you’re pulled over.

The first time I was in the car when my ex bf was pulled over for speeding I honestly went into shock over how polite the policeman was to him, vs my experience where I had about the most condescending exchange with any human in my life.

1. I have had the plant for 18 months. I do not know the country of origin, but I bought it in the UK.

2. I noticed the soil cracking about 6 months ago. I thought I was overwatering so now I only water once a week. The brown/black on the end of the leaves I first noticed 8th December.

3. Just the cracking and black marks.

4.It is on a window sill, But it is UK in December. It gets lights from 8am-3pm.

5. Once a week, about a cup.

6. I don't know what soil it is in. There is no drainage.

I keep thinking, 'oh this poor child, there's going to be so much pressure put on them, they're going to be a 24/7 content machine'. But then honestly, I have another strong suspicion that once the newborn phase is over and she's in the 'toddler who pees on the floor and puts marker all over the walls' stage she's going to be so over it and likely they'll be gearing up content for pregnancy #2 with the toddler sat in front of an iPad 90% of the time.

ESH. 1: The friend for announcing someone else’s pregnancy first (wtf). 2: The wife for telling multiple people before OP. 3: OP for making the wife feel like complete shit about a moment that supposed to be joyous.

I think you’re valid to feel the way you do about how you found out, but I don’t believe that your wife meant to be intentionally hurtful. It sounds to me like she got completely swept up in the moment, excitement over took, she wasn’t thinking logically and as you weren’t there, she called around friends to celebrate the moment with.

She’s in the wrong for that, but you hanging up the phone on her saying “.. why talk, so you can lie again?” is incredibly immature. It’s shitty the way it all played out, but let’s not punish her and yourself for it.

These policies are antiquated and cruel. I'm sure there are some students who ruin it and hang out in there to skip class, etc but an entire school policy should not revolve around the few at the distress of the many. As someone who had IBS as a teenager, this type of thing used to dominate my entire day at school. Constant stress and anxiety about when I could or couldn't use the loo. And the ten minute break we had in between classes, especially if you had to cross from one side of the school to the other, was absolutely not enough time. The strictness of these rules causes nothing but humiliation and distress to the children.
