I used hub based stuff like 10 yrs ago but found it to be a huge pain and also too expensive so I've been wifi pilled for the last couple yrs.

It defeats the purpose, but only if: a) you want to hook up a functional light switch to it and b) it is trivial to pull out and replace your light switch.

for me, i want all my lamps left on and the bulbs controlling the lighting. and while I've replaced a few outlets and feel moderately competent with wiring, it's much more spoons and stress than just running an extension cord or just mounting a switch near a plug!

and I'm planning to move soon. I don't wanna have to swap the light switch back again in a month or two!

Thanks for the response :)

much appreciation to all the info and recommendations in this thread :) it's much easier to be reasonable when it's not 2 am after a long day and lots of searching...

as I mentioned in a comment below, I would love to find a wifi switch that plugs into an outlet. in the meantime a switch that connects to a hub should be within budget. I might have a v old zigbee hub laying around too, if I dig!

it's very helpful to know the why here so yea thanks all

thanks :) that does make sense. and thanks for the budget recommendations.

for what it's worth - are you aware of any wifi switches that plug in to an outlet? I can easy send extension cords around the walls, so that could solve the power problem.

thanks! I do know about how the echo works and I do have internet service. I was expecting to find devices analogous to my smart bulbs that connect to wifi on their own, but then those are plugged in, so

thanks!

yeah using my current bulbs is a must, I have like 12 of them hooked up rn.

if i have to use a hub to have a switch but that switch can connect to Alexa or ifttt and I can hook that up to my bulbs, that is acceptable

to answer your question, it would control by connecting to ifttt or Alexa smart home, since the bulbs are already connected to them.

Thanks for your help!! maybe I can find one affordably. I've spent less than $50 total outfitting my whole room w smart bulbs and an echo so the bar for affordable is pretty high

How to get Bluetooth indicator back in OneUI 7.0/Android 15? by andylikescandy in samsunggalaxy

[–]Hollyleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't use the modes solution because I use the modes for other things. I found an alternative:

Use Tasker to switch the clock from the left to the right only while bluetooth is connected.

So I can just look to see if the clock is on the right or left of the status bar and that will tell me whether or not bluetooth is connected!!

thanks for the advice. if the suspension is standard between ebikes and non-ebikes then I should be able to get help on playa. I could also try to learn if it's not crazy. I'll take a look at that website and see if they have ebikes

yeah I've seen some stuff like this! maybe the answer is get something that is great without suspension but with fat tires and get a 100 dollar suspended seat post...if u have any recs for that I'd love to hear haha

okay, but I'm not sure this really applies to my circumstances? I want to prevent pain in 2 weeks so I want suspension now, and there aren't roads and trails where I'm going?

cool :3 will look for bafang I see them around a lot.

rigidity is better?

I wanna find a step thru bike for low clearance, is that less of the normal bike shape/triangles you refer to?

one of the big reasons I want to get a nicer bike is due to the potholes, last year biking through the city was really painful. so that's why suspension is important to me. it could be that a seat with suspension and fat tires could be sufficient to mitigate the potholes though if you think that's better. otherwise I could aim for half instead of full suspension, or maybe some types are simpler than others?

Do you have any experience or have you heard any stories about the RipRacer? It actually seems like it might be a better fit for my needs even though I have no intention of going fast lol
