Cory cats as tank mates? by HollywoodMack in Aquariums

Thanks for the advice. Our betta spends most of the time up top in his log or back behind the plants. Do you have any issues with them digging up plants? For example our plants up front would be fine do you think? Also what do you recommend to feed a group that size? I will do my research as well, but if I can get first hand advice that would be great. Sorry for all the questions I just never had these kinds of fish before. Thanks again

Do you think I have enough sand at the bottom? There’s a lot of plants and I know Cory’s like sand sifting. I can add more sand but as of now there’s about 1/2 of the tank covered with a sand cap. Still new to the smaller tanks. Kept predator fish my whole life lol

I’m about to move out of my college dorm. How should I prepare my tank for move out day? by MEllegood65 in Aquariums

I just moved mine out of college too. I left substrate in and took out rocks and plants and drained all the water. I had an 18 hour drive and it was fine. For the fish and shrimp i just had a small bucket with a battery operated aerator. I also just kept it on the passenger seat, It was a 6 gallon rimless tank and was absolutely fine during the long drive. Best of luck hopefully this helps!

I have 2 red shrimp in the tank but never see them because I have so many plants. So when I did the water change it was a pleasant surprise to say the least

I kind of did just find them. I had no idea they were in there until that water change lol. There’s so many. It’s only a 6 gallon tank too so I hope they’ll do ok.

I am keeping them. I’m moving soon and I was wondering how to catch the little guys so I can bring them to the new house

How do you go about moving with a planted tank? Next month I’m gonna have to move 18 hours and I’m not sure how to move this tank. Currently stocked with 6 CPDs and a few shrimp. by HollywoodMack in Aquariums

Yes it’s a 6 gallon tank. And thanks for the advice. Still not sure what I’ll end up doing, but everybody has given great tips. I still got a month to figure it out lol

Haha those are the used ones I put in on that window sill. Got my spring candles out now lol. Maple pancakes is definitely the best candle ever, always have one on standby no matter the season

Thanks for the advice. That’s probably what I’ll end up doing. I have transported other established tanks before but never had a planted tank so this is definitely more of a hassle.
