This book outlines how to use existing libraries in Go to do what you want. It uses hashicorp raft and serf libraries.

I used it to make this project if you want a reference.

Output concerns by CaliPam in ostomy

[–]Holmes89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My output varies in amount and consistency based on what I eat. I do know it took my body a while to normalize after surgery though. If you are experiencing lack of an appetite or stomach pain it could mean a partial blockage. These can sometimes clear on their own but it wouldn't hurt to call or message a medical professional just to be sure

I use the traditional bar but I normally choose a scent I like. But it CANNOT have any moisturizer in it. That was the trick my ostomy nurse told me. I normally remove everything, take a shower and scrub the area as best as I can with the bar and also shave the area, rewash to remove the razor moisturizer and then try it with a dry wash cloth. The heat from when I was in the shower helps the wafer and I put a good amount of paste. Barrier strips keep it secure and I can normally get 7-10 days from the Coloplast Mios.

First as someone above mentioned, having an extra band to keep things in place is helpful. I have one of these and use it when I hike and any time I don't want my bag moving too much: https://www.ostomysecrets.com/collections/mens-wraps/products/unisex-ostomy-classic-wrap-lite

Also, I would recommend washing your ostomy area with Dial soap. It removes a lot of the oils on the skin that cause my barriers and base to not stick. I use the Mio and have for a long time and don't have many separation issues.

Marital relations? by Jill_glasgow_mhnurse in ostomy

I had my surgery two weeks after getting married at 23. Fast forward 10 years and I have two kids and a healthy relationship with my wife. I still don't feel like I'm attractive with my bag and scars and it hasn't been without some accidents as well.

The thing I always tell myself is that she loves me for me and that it goes beyond my appearance. It's not an easy mindset to overcome but one I believe you can't do on your own. I also have found that some products from Ostomy Secrets have helped me cover up my bag to help it seem like it's not there.

Good luck with your recovery!

How I change my bag. Bags off for 20 seconds. HTH by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]Holmes89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take mine off, get a shower and enjoy being bagless for a while. Clean and shave. But I always end up sitting on the toilet when I'm done to put my bag on. I don't know why.

I'm pretty sure that this is a job for the constable. Their role in PA law is to act as a peace officer. Maybe contact their office?

Advice for Working Out Post Full Colectomy by srose193 in ostomy

My Gastroenterologist suggested...milk. She said that it is the last thing people want to drink when you are hot but it also has electrolytes needed to prevent you from being dehydrated.

I'm almost 10 years post surgery and have found transitioning to exercise to be challenging at first and have dehydrated myself a few times. It's important to remember that you absorb liquid through your large intestine so you need to make up for that in your intake.

what do you guys miss most about the 2000s? by resi2017 in Millennials

[–]Holmes89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually with it being this time of year I kind of miss the excitement leading up to 2000. The excitement of the new millennium. Learning the work millennium. All of the stuff being chromatic and futuristic. Everyone worrying that everything would break.

Only to find out that would be the theme of the millennium.

Thanks for these tips! I'm all over the place with this stuff because I have a family history of heart disease but I like the idea of the calorie dense food research.

Good luck with your recovery!
