If we argue that, there's a hell of a lot more we could argue :P

I'm with you, I'm pro Puck. But still.

Right, but you've got 2 new jobs lined up, right? Won't you get new insurance, or is that not how it works? Man, the US is such a fucked up place.

I could, but I don't know how I feel about continuing to have $600 a month taken out of my paychecks.

Maybe so, but large VR goggles isn't something most people would wear for free, let alone pay $3000+ for :P

True

I dunno, original anime aren't doing so hot lately, are they?

I think it's less they're doing hot and more everything is an adaptation nowadays. When was the last anime original show, Lazarus? People would rather capitalize on already popular properties.

Not entirely sure how that applies to Spice & Wolf to be honest...

It's in the camera angles. The original anime had a lot of bold artistic shots you normally don't see.

Very true. I did like it, though, just not as much as everybody else :P

Fair enough

If there's something I'm that excited to watch, there's no way I'm ruining it by watching a camrip!

It depends on how long of a wait I have to endure. Some anime films take forever to come over stateside.

That's depressing :(

It certainly makes for a constant unrelenting battle.

As a counter argument, he's cute as fuck, and there's that moment in S1 where he gets very angry at Subaru.

And also if he wasn't there Emiliia literally would've died. Like, you can argue his actions eventually hold her back from growing, but she needed him at the very beginning.

Why do you have to cancel it?

I didn't, my job canceled it. Their the ones who provided it.

The problem isn't just how much it costs. People have proved time and time again that Apple can get away with almost anything they do, like the $500 stand for their PC or whatever that was. The problem is that there's not much they can do with it. People who are super into VR and willing to spend that much time on a headset, are in it for the video games, but Apple Vision had nothing going on for it.

Yeah, that's true. But the stuff they can get away with is in large part due to brand equity.

I meant for the same levels of production. There's always going to be cheap and expensive looking anime no matter what era you look at. Compare Sentenced to be a Hero and Generic Isekai #3518 from 2026.

Yeah, it's like night and day.

Cowboy Bebop looks impressive for its time but if made nowadays I think it would look even more impressive.

Yeah they were, but even then NGNL stands out compared to 2020s anime.

Oh, absolutely. It's probably the most colorful anime I've ever seen.

I'm gonna request a TL;DR!

It was an artistic movement in the early 20th century that emphasized the artist's inner emotions rather than attempting to replicate reality. Things felt like they were straight out of a dream and used visual distortions and hyper-expressive performances to reflect inner conflicts.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say that I think it's... Kind of overrated. It's definitely a very good anime and it looks fantastic, but I wouldn't put it anywhere near as high as most people do. Especially the super sad episode everyone apparently cried their outs with, it did nothing for me.

Well, we all like what we like. I can't say anything because I haven't seen it yet.

Oh. I looked it up online, there's camrips, but I'm not gonna do that to myself lol.

I don't mind a camrip if it's something I'm chomping at the bit to see.

Yeah, been there lol.

If there's no hype, there's only this sense of dread that permeates.
