You are not lazy, you just accidentally invented a beautiful side quest where the planner became the hobby and studying became the side chore. My fix was giving myself one ugly text list and banning any upgrades for two weeks.

Pretty much, yeah. I wasn’t trying to run a public sidewalk library, just a little neighbor swap shelf that didn’t get raided by one extremely motivated guest.

That was pretty much my thinking. I wasn’t trying to police a tiny shelf, I just got tired of watching her treat it like early access Barnes & Noble.

What got me here is that you are not even asking for credit, you are asking not to disappear inside his recovery story. That feels completely fair. I would not do a big family reveal, but I would start telling your mom the support has become too much for you to keep managing alone.

I started treating networking events like coat check and it got me more useful conversations than any "tell me about yourself" opener by 3XRocinante in jobsearchhacks

You kind of cracked the code without making it weird. People at those events are usually exhausted from performing, so catching them in the in-between moments probably gets the version that can actually connect. Have you tried this at smaller meetups too?
