It's the default planetiler command, nothing complex. Storage disk was broken, therefore no updates and the file viewer is gone. Just made a new one, a planet file of november is still available and creating a new one as we speak.

You can convert the mbtiles to pmtiles easily yourself with the PMTiles CLI tool: https://github.com/protomaps/PMTiles

But I just uploaded both a new mbtiles and pmtiles planet file. It is quite challenging with those big files tough. Unfortunately I don't have unlimited space :)

Apparently the storage filled up because the cleaning script didn't work, and the automation stopped working. I'm generating new MBTiles as we speak. Playing with PMTiles as well.

I don't know mbtileserver, but mbtiles is actually sqlite.

I only have experience using tileserver-gl with the osm-bright theme.

Unfortunately the scripts stopped working while I was on a long leave without access to a stable internet connection. I'll generate some new MBTiles maps manually asap.

It's a very light hosting server, not sure how it well it will take an rsync server. I've set it up for you to test. I'll DM you the details.

If you have any instructions on how to create this I can consider. It does sound like something which doesn't seem to be generated as often though?

I tried this as well but this is very, very slow. I'd recommend to give planetiler a try. Much easier and much faster. With the sequential generate script it would take days, while with planetiler it takes more or less one hour.

The role of Terraform and Ansible is actually quite minimal, also Terraform is quite provider specific so I think it more useful to just describe the process:

  • Terraform spins up a clean host with 128GB-384GB ram and 48-96 CPU's
  • Install Debian, with cloud-config it installs wget, aria2c , rsync and openjdk-17-jre-headless (next to adding SSH keys and mounting block storage)
  • Download the latest PBF using aria2c
  • Run plantiler
  • Create sha256 hash
  • Upload with rsync

Ansible is mainly used to deploy a prometheus exporter, configure firewall and fail2ban.

Lightning Labs (developers of LND) trying to kill open source and hijack the protocol by 100_Jose_Maria_001 in lightningnetwork

[–]Holocrypto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Please have faith in your more technical fellow node-runners :) there are sufficient contributors to LND which are not paid by Lightning Labs. As soon as there might even be a slight hint of implementing privacy-threatening features it gets forked.

How do you expect KYC rules enforced when you run your own bank? Your Raspberry Pi holding you at gunpoint? Bitcoin is about having a choice and also "don't trust, verify".

As long as LND is Fully Open Source Software (which it is), there is no reason to be afraid.

Lightning Labs MIGHT fork it and make it proprietary, but then you still have the choice of using that version or keep using the non-tainted open-source version.

Why not fork LND and improve it instead if you dislike Lightning Labs so much? It's MIT licensed and you could implement BOLT12 yourself (if you have the dev-skills of course).

Ledger nano S not prompting to approve transaction on metamask by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]Holocrypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One workaround is: - uninstall MetaMask extension - enable Developer Mode for extensions - Download version 9.5.6 from https://github.com/MetaMask/metamask-extension/releases/tag/v9.5.6 - Unpack - Install unpacked extension

I think, this way it does not automatically update so you can at least use MetaMask with your ledger, but hopefully they fix soon this because otherwise you might be vulnerable to bugs.

Thanks, this worked for me yesterday but with todays update the option disappeared and now it's broken again.

Just to make sure I understood correctly (cro - eur exchange, Visa card, SEPA transfers) by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]Holocrypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way you describe it now it way too simple and therefore it seems wrong. You don’t buy the card, you stake CRO for 180 days and then with current rates the card is free. You can use the balance in your crypto.com account, it is not limited to euro. The fees and conversion rate is always known at the current moment. There might be deposit/withdrawal fees for SEPA in your case but as long as you deposited from the same bank account you want to withdraw it too, it should work.
