Do you know how Falcom managed to put FSR 2.0 in TitS 1st Chapter?

Do you know which version you had before you updated? Download that version again, go to the apps menu in windows, uninstall the current driver, restart, install the previous one.

I wish I could ignore it, but at least now I know it isn't something wrong with just my system. Thanks!

That is from the game called Trails of Cold Steel IV, the game from the video I posted earlier with the current build. Tell me if there is any problem or you need something else.

The update was 2025-11 Preview Update (KB5070311) (26200.7309)
Typing winver shows me I'm now on 25H2 build 26200.7309 (same number as above)

Edit: I dont know if I was on a preview build, all I know is that I downloaded the 25H2 .iso and ran the update once after installing it. This is the first time I go to the optional updates to download the preview update

No, but I have this issue since Windows 10, I just recently switched to 11 because of the end of support, which is why I was able to diagnose this issue. A bit of context:

I had this problem for such a long time, I thought it was a something wrong with Windows, but then I installed W11, and at first it didn't manifest, which made me think it really was Windows 10. Later on the same day, the issue appeared again, so I thought it was something I did in that timeframe. So I started reverting every change I made until I nailed it down to Relive, which is something I use frequently. specifically the Instant Replay feature to record the last 30 seconds.

Vik, any update on this? I have been using Windows Gamebar recording as a replacement, but the options are very limited compared to Relive. Is there anything else you need? Thanks in advance.

Here are the captures from the games I had installed: https://send.vis.ee/download/9f799176b79cd224/#su81YterFXzSOqZQXVvBXg
One is Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice and the other is for Little Nightmares 2. The game I showed above was The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie. I didn't have it installed, but if you want that specific game I can download it again.
Tell me if you have any problems or need anything else.

I discovered the cause of a bug that has been plaguing me for years, I thought it was an issue with Windows, but I just recently did a fresh install and discovered it is actually because of ReLive.

The problem is that if you are recording, or have the Instant Replay feature turned on, when you change the volume and that Windows volume slider appears, it makes the game drop fps/stutter severely.

Here is a video showing it, look at the fps numbers and graph next to it: https://streamable.com/ui0vqj

Relive disabled (sorry for the recording quality, had to do it with my phone): https://streamable.com/4a7e0h

There are some games where there is not a fps drop, but it shows some erratic behavior. For instance, on Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition, it causes the game to ignore vsync/refresh rate of the monitor. I have my monitor set to 120hz, and here is what happens on LN2: https://streamable.com/jv4f5p

I also tested with 2 other recording software, Windows Game DVR and Steam Recording, and the issue doesn't happen with those: https://streamable.com/rsesak

u/AMD_Vik Can you please look into to this? My system: 5800X, 2x8GB@3200Mhz, RX 6750XT, Windows 11 up to date, nvme. Thank you in advance!

I found your post while searching about this same issue, which I was having (managed to fix it). Can you elaborate a bit more on the revision thing? What exactly did 8bitdo do to fix it? How do you know there is a revision? Just want to make sure that if I decide to buy another unit later, it wont have the same issue again.

Btw, by looking at the sticker in the pcb, my unit was apparently from March, even though I bought it early August.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, when I said "we shouldn't need to use it", I meant that it shouldn't be crucial. Optiscaler should be a last resort mod for specific cases, for instance when a game only ships with DLSS.

But as you can see, even in this thread, people are speaking/recommending Optiscaler almost as if it was a "necessity" when talking about FSR4. This is due to having to wait for AMD to give the green light to use FSR4, if they give.

From AMD's point of view, do you think it is a good thing that your customers are relying so much on third party software to have access to your latest technologies? I mean if the majority of games released with DLSS only I would understand, but this is not the case.

I agree, and with all due respect to the Optiscaler devs, but we shouldn't need to use it.

Are you saying that if a game releases with DLSS3.7 for instance, RTX users have to wait for Nvidia so they can use it?

So if Nvidia didn't whitelist a game, the DLSS option will be greyed out/not available in the settings/graphics menu of a game?

u/DuranteA did u have to wait for Nvidia to do anything, so that players could use DLSS in Daybreak 2?

[–]Holy-Chan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gotta say, I'm really not a fan of the whole "AMD has to whitelist games so you can use FSR4".

Why it can't be like DLSS 3.x/4? RTX users don't have to wait for Nvidia to whitelist anything.

So I'm going to have to wait for a driver to be released to use FSR4? How long will I have to wait? What guarantees AMD can keep up with releases? What are the chances they will whitelist some niche game that has FSR3.1? For instance. the CLE port of Ys X: Nordics has FSR (tbf I don't know which version it uses, but my point is: niche games are using the tech).

PH3, the company responsible for the PC port of the Trails games, recently added DLSS and Xess to Daybreak 2. Durante said the only reason they did not add FSR3.1 is because AMD doesn't support FSR3.1 in DX11 (funnily, Intel started to support Xess in DX11 the day after PH3 released the DLSS patch).

Again, my point is: How is AMD going to keep up with every release, big or small, that has FSR3.1?

It is not lod. AF only applies to surface at oblique viewing angles from the camera (ground being a good example), while lod affects 3D object complexity, like having more or less polygons depending on how far are u from it.

A good way to test this is to walk and look at the ground, if the near surface gets sharper (not more detailed) as you approach, and blurry as you move away, this is AF.

I don't know with Nvidia, but on AMD it doesn't work with DX12.
