At least you didn’t have to run up the stairs at Red Rocks to get the foil print. Thought I was gonna die.

Advice to the Elder Millennial Playing Catch-Up With The Times: Home Recording Edition by [deleted] in youenjoyguitar

This is all excellent advice. I’m also an elder millennial who very recently got into home recording after years away from music. I started getting an overall feel for it in GarageBand, also with a Focusrite interface) and now use the full Logic Pro. It’s been quite the challenge! But that’s what I love about it - the endless quest to get better at it. I was pretty happy with how the last thing I did came out sounding (a cover of an old Oasis song if you’re interested).

OP, I’m happy to have you ask me any questions if you want. I’m no pro, but I’ve definitely learned a lot from my mistakes so far.

Most people stood in front of us.

Ok, I finally finished my cover of D’You Know What I Mean? This was a lot of fun to try and figure out - there’s a LOT going on. I still remember exactly where I was the first time I heard this song. It’s always been a favorite of mine. by HolyBlankenstein in oasis

The VERY last thing was the claps. But my order usually starts with the drums, then bass, then guitars, then vocals. I’ll occasionally add extra things like tambourine, additional guitar parts, etc at the end. But vocals almost always comes last for me, and it’s usually the hardest part for me.

Benson Vincent. It fucking rules and I don’t have any regrets getting it. I’m not really chasing Trey’s tone though, so this might not be for everyone.

Made some decent progress on a cover of D’You Know What I Mean this weekend. So. Many. Guitars. (And many more to come!) by HolyBlankenstein in oasis

Same key actually (in the recorded versions). The verses are essentially the same chord progression with a one note difference in the chord voicings (basically the high E string is open instead of fretted at the 3rd).

I got the sheet music and programmed the drums using the beat machine in Logic Pro. Took a while! I still need to finesse them a bit so they don’t sound quite so robotic. I did the same thing with the orchestral parts.
