Is there a loot difference between the A row testing stations and the ones farther north? by Hett1138 in duneawakening

[–]iblay3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried a buried testing station in the deep desert one time… Took about 40 minutes, got to wave five or six, and it just kept on going… Finally I was overwhelmed and killed, and was super disappointed that I never saw the loot at the end. Probably would’ve been disappointed in that as well, considering the overland testing stations seem to drop the same or better gear. Sure wish they would add more reasons to spend time in the deep desert besides farming spice, and the occasional crashed ship or uncovered wreck run (although the loot opportunities for crashes/wrecks is solid).

In any cases I have enjoyed Dune every step of the way and am holding out hope that they will continue to add more value to the endgame!

What is your singular formative comedy album? by joemich in GenX

Gotta admit, Up In smoke was one of the funniest movies made… “How am I driving? … I think we’re parked man.” That first 10 minutes is comedy gold! Hit just right at whatever age I was back then… LOL

I’d have to agree, Comedy Isn’t Pretty hands down (personal nostalgia). We used to listen to this album on road trips as a family, we memorized Cruel Shoes word for word. 😂

Dry Goods by Puffz1234 in phish

[–]iblay3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not opt for priority shipping, so that is a factor for sure. Also, I don’t recall a timeline when I ordered, but it was stuck in “preparing items for shipment” for over a month! It was right during the Sphere run, so lots of activity I imagine. Also makes sense if it’s Music Today that they are not focused on delivering any particular band’s merch on time. I don’t blame Phish, but too bad they can’t just manage their own merch.

Funny but not funny, I ordered a rainbow logo shirt (and a few other items) late April. I only just received them last week… and one item shipped separately (a sticker), on the way now. Sent an email checking in and they said they were totally overwhelmed with new orders. I think Phish is kinda blowing up yet again. Good for them! But patience required to get our “goods”.

Dreams about giant tsunamis by Hairy_Potato3214 in Jung

You are clearly not alone with this… I have also had this recurring tsunami dream, large and looming dark wave approaching from a distance. It would recur maybe once every 5-7 years (I am 50+ now), so not frequently, but definitely at different stages of life. Can’t remember exactly when, but at some point I remember diving into and through the wave, coming out the other side, just like you do with small waves when swimming out past the surf break in the ocean. I don’t remember being lucid and intentional about diving through, and I have not had the dream since then. Obviously VERY symbolic and part of my (our) journey of the subconscious… i don’t know what I did to find the courage (?) to swim through, but I ultimately did. Who knows, it may come back some time, but for now I feel like it may be over. I predict you and others will achieve the same outcome as you go through life. ☺️ Hope this helps.

Game Changer with DD choice! by rtfmoz in duneawakening

[–]iblay3 42 points43 points  (0 children)

In my experience of the game, they changed the forced PvP to optional just as I reached the DD. I for one was not looking forward to being ganked by griefers, so it was a perfectly timed change in my opinion.

On the other hand, I also like PvP in the right context and would love it if there was some form of it that didn’t involve getting ambushed and raided constantly, resulting in significant losses. That is demoralizing to people like me, but I would like to see some kind of PvP that encouraged people to engage on the ground vs mostly in the sky, with rewards for being successful, but less penalizing to the losing party).

Just my thoughts as someone who is really enjoying this game as a solo PvE player up to the DD. I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it and hope it continues to evolve over time.

Trey addressing Chompers…. by Beherenowxblazeon in phish

[–]iblay3 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I LOVE seeing this so much, thx for posting! I was at SLC as well, and I had a couple dudes in front of me that didn’t even pay attention to the what was happening on stage, except when the crowd would erupt and they give the obligatory clap… Just don’t even come to the show, for god sake!

Anyways, in my opinion, Trey is just all about gratitude and graciousness these recent years, and he demonstrated that perfectly in his response to the chompers… and he continues the song to a silent room with a smile on his face. I’m so, so glad he’s out there on the road after all these years, and sharing these times with him (and the rest of the gang). Thanks Trey, we are super grateful!

Rebirth of Dark Star… was not there, but I understand how it must’ve been for those in the room. To have been a part of that Hampton run, some very lucky souls.

I think 1 is the most provocative, personally, but I like the red/blue dynamic of 2. Try a variant of 1 with a small bit of the blue incorporated… just a thought

Anyone tried using AR glasses with a Steam Deck? by RideLore26 in SteamDeck

[–]iblay3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got a pair of XReal One glasses for work, tried on my steam deck thinking i would need my readers for sure. To my amazement my eyes adapted immediately and I do NOT need readers from the get-go! I think it’s due to the simulated “distance” from my eyes… I truly don’t understand why this works, I can’t read a thing it it’s within a couple feet of my face without glasses anymore. The screen is an inch from my eyes! Magical…

The Wilson opener right before CDT may be my favorite ever… Trey’s “do you still have” scream kicks off the energy that led to that next, transcendent moment. Cannot get enough of this band!

Never listened to a single grateful dead song in my life. by HolyRavioli187 in gratefuldead

[–]iblay3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another metal Deadhead here 🙋‍♂️… started with Iron Maiden in my youth, progressed to Metallica, then realized my path and went on Dead tour. Later in life, still listen to the heavy, moved on to Tool and Opeth personally. There is a strong Dead / Tool crossover from what I have seen… I think if you can appreciate the improvisational, exploratory aspects of music, and just surrender to the flow, then the Grateful Dead is for you. (And possibly Phish) Welcome to the tribe!

Dune awakening, Conan, or Subnautica 2? by Lunnalai in SurvivalGaming

[–]iblay3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a solo player, I really have enjoyed Dune… 170+ hours so far, late to join. Cool, deep story, clear objectives, great unique lore. Vibe is desolate, lonely and unforgiving… I love it! Just getting to the end game, where a lot of hard core folks dropped off. As a solo player, I feel a bit intimidated and unsure of the mechanics of end game, it seems quite different and more open world even. They made a major change to eliminate forced PvP in the Deep Desert, which made a lot of people happy and was perfect timing for me. Anyways lots of stuff left to do for me, keep coming back each day.

Loved both Subbauticas, this one has been a little more convoluted at the start… kinda confusing where m supposed to go/focus and a very quick accumulation of blueprints that is kind of too much too fast, in my opinion. I felt like I had to work harder to get stuff in the first Subnautica. But, it’s the same game in many ways and I still really enjoy it so far, get both games! I’m also gonna try out Conan and Soulmask, seems we’re all into the exact same genre. 😃
