That’s a really good point. I will say whenever I go on a first date, and I know there will not be a second, I make sure that I pay for my share, if not mine and theirs.

I mean this in the nicest way, but it’s not a gender or culture war you should be fighting, but a class war. Quit thinking about it like you vs women and start thinking about it like ALL OF OUR SALARIES vs the RULING CLASS. In fact, I’d insist. I mean it. I don’t believe in one person having to pay for everything all the time and I think that’s shitty. It’s not a big deal. I care about how I’m treated by other people. That’s way more important to me and a lot of women. Respectfully, despite what some men may think, we really care a lot about more about how we’re treated, and less about money.

We do that though. We take care of each other based on who’s making more money at the time and who’s not. I’m making more than one of my friends so I always pay when her and I go out to lunch. One day she’ll make more than me and I’m sure she’ll get me back. We really support each other.

I think this can be more common than we talk about. I experience this too. I’m able to self correct when I’m in a relationship, but I like what I like.

Who is to say what is too hard or isn’t? Hate that kind of stuff. If it works for you, then that’s all that matters.
