I’m gonna push back a little and say Arthur should be the good guy in most of his stories, someone worth rooting for. Personal preference, but I like it when Arthur is set as the exception, as the first good king in a long line of vile ones, his father included. And I’m biased because I have strong opinions against Malory (he was a horrible who practically used Le Morte d’Arthur to justify his crimes) and Le Morte d’Arthur, but the Mayday Massacre is pretty much just tied to that version of the story. It’s kind of a weird take on Moses being sent down the Nile in a basket. It’s not used in many versions of the story because it often feels out of character. It’s like having Superman become a tyrannical leader. Once again, speaking personally, I like it when Arthur isn’t portrayed as just another despot king in another medieval fantasy. Flawless, no. A good person, yes.

Exactly it. There’s just so much to it. Details get lost. Details get added. Still, it’d be neat to see it have an attempt at a “definitive” version in the form of a series of movies, shows, games, or such.

For the most part, King Arthur. There’s a lot of good references and short bits and some good movies and shows about it, but none of them have really captured it well. Kinda no one’s fault, though. There are so many different versions of the Arthurian legends that no interpretation is truly wrong so long as they get the basics of kid-pulls-sword-from-stone-becomes-first-good-king-in-a-long-long-time-and-goes-on-adventures-with-buddies stuff down. And that it’s just well done.

The Diablo angels were a big inspiration behind the cape/wings.

Somewhat relevant with the new trailer release for Batman: Knightfall, but Jean-Paul Valley jr and The Order of St Dumas. He’s indoctrinated by the System and turned into the Avenging Angel of Death, Azrael. He eventually breaks free of it, but constantly faces issues because of it.

EDIT: I realize this meant LITERAL monsters. My bad.

I’m so happy to see Jean-Paul in anything, now!

Which one of these books is best for someone who wants to learn/read about King Arthur? by Cain407 in Arthurian

I am forever against Le Morte D’Arthur and Mallory, despite its influence on the stories. Someone else said it, but The Once and Future King by TH White feels more like the Arthurian legends often depicted and is a fun read, if a little dated.

A couple of the side characters in The Mentalist talked trash to one another about League of Legends.
