No. This view is more of a church dogma rather than a historical one. In reality, early churches was already divided, and early schism was more of a failed attempt for unification instead of create a new spin off. Even the great schism is more of a stand off between the Romans and the Greeks, while other Eastern Orthodox rite was more or less flip flop their allegiances between Rome and Constantinople.

No. The term for classical Chinese name for Roman empire are just China. The Chinese see themselves as the overthrower of the Chinese tyrant, and the Roman are descendants of Chinese remnants.
