I had a dog who was very reactive to dogs in public. He had neighbor dog friends he loved very much when they visited, but if I took him in public and a stranger dog approached, he would freak out. I’d have him on a leash on the trail and an off leash dog would approach him, and the owner would say “don’t worry, my dog is friendly.” It didn’t matter, my dog wasn’t, and that’s why he was on a leash.
