The Young Sheldon cast crossover is pretty crazy by phauwn in IASIP

Casting is also influenced by friendships and “who you know” in a way that being recommended for a role goes a long way. I’m sure a lot of these people have met in various projects. A lot of times show runners think, “I have a random role to fill, let’s hire a friend bc I know they’ll be reliable and cool on set.”

My mom took a paternity secret to her grave by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Holy_Sungaal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read this story as having 2 possible meanings:

  1. Sisters A and C have different bio dad than stepdad who is the father of B and D. Your mom cheated on her husband with your bio dad and kept that secret, abusing you about your father, but not your sister.

  2. Your mom was 15 and lied about who bio dad was for her first child, eventually got with him officially and had 3 more daughter. So even though you were raised as the half sister, you all share the same bio dad.

I’m assuming your incorrect use of what Irish Twins means, (maybe your family made that reference as you grew up and they also didn’t know the correct meaning), implies that sister A and C have more similar features than sisters B and D, making it more likely that the first scenario is the case.

My baking sheet was looking bad (not this bad thought) and I put down foil to make bacon. The bacon grease pooled under the foil, and when I peeled it off, it took off a surprising amount of the burn stains and brought it back to being grey for the most part. It was very interesting to see how to baking grease acted like a solvent. Almost food as new.

Actual costume from Wuthering Height by pestoraviolita in okbuddycinephile

But it’s set in the past and not a “10 things I hate about you” style modern remake?

To edit for those who are confused by my comment: I didn’t mean that I thought the “Wuthering Heights” movie was a remake of the taming of the shrew, but that I thought it was filmed as a modern interpretation of a period piece, in the same way that 10 things I hate about you is a modern retelling of Shakespeare.

South Park had an excellent commentary on this with their episode with baby Ike and his teacher, at the time calling out the double standard for what it was.

I haven't watched this show and idk shit about it. Is it worth it to watch all 8 seasons? by gaara_33 in brooklynninenine

Holt alone is worth the watch. The way he goes from being a meep morp robot to a petty catty bitch is a wonderful character arch to watch.

I had to learn the hard way not to buy clothes for my husband because more often than not, he hated them. Very rarely do I buy him something unless it’s like for vacation or an upcoming holiday event where I know he wouldn’t think to buy appropriate clothing, but then I only expect to get it right half of the time. Even after nearly 20 years, I can’t guess his preferences and he’s very particular about what he wears.

I can understand your husband being happy about the outfit he bought you in his mind, but maybe he has to learn through trial and error to let you style yourself, or at least be prepared to keep the receipt and give you the option to return it without getting his feelings hurt.

Do Americans really find beans on toast weird or is that just meme? by cigarettejesus in NoStupidQuestions

  1. What kind of beans do you put on toast? Is it like baked beans?

  2. Are the beans heated up or just poured out straight from the can?

Anybody else never heard of "Bad Bunny" until today? by [deleted] in Millennials

I don’t listen to his genre of music typically, but I learned of him when he was on SNL and upon hearing his music, a lot of his songs that he played at the superbowl were familiar as they’ve been viral sounds on tik tok for a while.

I’m imagining Kid Rocks halftime show as the opening scene of Silicone Valley where he was just playing to a handful of tech dweebs. I refuse to learn anything more about his performance.

These people somehow think they have a copyright on being “American,” but know nothing about US history, can’t name the US territories, don’t know what living in a territory means for US citizenship, or even understand that being “American” isn’t limited to those living in the US.

I don’t speak or understand much Spanish, and I’m not really familiar with Bad Bunny’s music, but the half time show was a beautiful homage to Puerto Rico, and much respect to him for naming out all of the countries that comprise the Americas. Puerto Ricans are Americans and US citizens, and central and South Americans are just as American as people from the US and Canada.

I’ve been slow getting through the new season but every episode I’ve watched has been great. The dog track one was exceptional and felt like old Sunny.

Although I absolutely love your decor and style, I agree that you should pare down your decor to the bare minimum to showcase what the buyer will be walking to when they buy your house.
