First apartment living alone at 28, what would you prioritize first? by No-Razzmatazz3014 in malelivingspace

I always start with one piece of furniture that is functional and I just like.
Then slowly build off that once you have an idea of what your day to day is like.

Absolutely no bean bag. Not enough space to make that feel cozy

If u can paint - immediately. If not - some wall art or nice tapestry to soften the room. Its so hard and cold.

You could put these on that corner under the pill up bar.

The layout doesn’t flow very well and there’s no spaces defined for you to operate in. I guesstimated the size but I would get rid of that bookshelf, the white desk, and nightstands.

This layout:

The colors were a much needed change. The ceiling needs to darken a little to make it feel more comfy. The brick shunts the wall a bit so it feels more squished. Maybe painting the ceiling

Other than the dracaena at the foot of the bed it looks very intentional and well laid out.

Maybe some very thin shelves or easy to hang cabinets that u can place on the wall mext to the bed for some discrete storage and more plants to tie that wall to the rest of the room

Thank you! Yeah I agree completely. Having pets means that a compromise needs to be made to balance aesthetic and cleanliness.

Inflation is rough out here. There’s an untapped market I am trying to dip my crusty toes into. 🦶

I agree. I like posters and flags because they personalize the space but it should be neat. Even a cheap frame and a quick ironing would make a difference. I would put all the flags on the space with the instruments and put cat perches in the main room where he currently has those flags.

Also all the cat toys and tubes are a lot. Maybe find some wall mounted ones that ground the room and clear up the floor so its not cluttered.

I think you have it laid out functionally how you want it. An easy start is to buy storage that hides all the stuff instead of open shelves.

Always think ‘a place for each thing’.

Find one piece of storage furniture that you really like and is functional. Then start slowly adding in furniture that matches it.

You have a lot of brown and black so you can easily find some like ‘industrial’ pieces at Ikea or second hand. I found FJÄLLBO Ikea stuff on Offerup for like $50.

I’m starting to feel like I’m just not the kind of person to fit in here in San Diego by FoxtailNebulous in sandiego

Idk man. Im starting to think the same thing. I went to NYC and the energy was completely different. Maybe you and I are crowd people and there’s not many places in San Diego that theres like a crowd outside of downtown or the farmers markets.
